A Note to Publishers and Content Owners

This site is set up to digitally preserve video game magazines from 1999 and earlier. We do this because issues of these magazines are not readily available from publishers/content owners. While we don’t have legal permission, we operate in a way where we do not release anything that will reduce any potential income for you, or magazines that are available from you, nor do we release scans that are of a quality that may reflect poorly on you. So far this has worked, with several publishers/content owners basically ignoring our existence.

However, if you wish that we do not make content that you legally have ownership available on this site, just let us know and we will remove it. While we would prefer permission, we will fully oblige with your wishes concerning your content. This is a hobby we do out of passion and love for the video game magazines of yesterday, and not worth legal battles of any kind.

Retromags Weekly Update
Week Ending 12/19/2009

Nintendo Power Collection Back Online!

I know that Retromags was pretty well demolished over the past few months, and for that I apologize. First we had all of our Rapidshare links go down, and then we received a letter from our hosting company demanding the removal of our local downloads. I am working as hard as I can to bring the systems back online and appreciate everyone who is helping. The first section that has come back online is the Nintendo Power Collection. I have added working links and removed the broken ones. I am bringing up the biggest collections first and then will bring up the smaller ones. I am not only fixing the broken downloads but also making sure that Project Tracker is up to date for each collection.

Is there a reason the download file icon on the magazine pages doesn't show up (at least in the CleanCut theme)? What ends up showing up is "Download FileDownload File".

I hope to get some NP covers scanned for the Wiki that are missing (2009/2010) should I keep them the resolution I've been doing them for the wiki?

Hey Thor :)

Keep the Wiki entries at the same resolution you have been using, but if you notice that the cover is missing from our Gallery .....go ahead and throw a copy up...but resize it down to 96dpi, 1200 height and 70 jpg quality....that should make it under 200kb and match the other ones in there.

Hi,

Thanks for this great site.

I've compiled all the Nintendo Power links for JDowloader.

The file is here.

I hope it helps.
