Letters (Assorted gripes, praise, and questions abound):

  • Pause ("What Happened to the Great Videogame Music?" is this month's question. March's question of "PlayStation 2: Now or Later?" becomes the topic of discussion, with nearly every respondent feeling it would be prudent for Sony to wait another year or two before dropping the PS2. The console doesn't make its US debut until 2000, so Sony seemed to agree.)
  • Top This! (If you can get the gold medal cars in 'Gran Turismo', unlock every secret character in 'Tekken 3', or obtain every character in 'HotShots Golf', and you're the fastest to provide picture of video evidence, PSM's got a PS1 steering wheel with your name on it!)
  • Marketplace (Buy, sell, and trade with other readers at your own risk!)
  • Coming next month: Tekken 3 secrets, a special report from Bill Paris about the Tokyo Game Show, the first look at Mortal Kombat 4, and more!

Notable Stuff:

  • Page count is up slightly from last month, from 100 to 106.
  • This issue shipped with a sheet of 28 PS1 memory card stickers bound between pages 74 and 75.
  • So, what happened to #10 on the EB Chart this month, PSM?
  • Page 93 carries a correction to the Gex tip sleeve from issue 7; the locations of some items were changed between the pre-release beta they played and the final product. The proper locations are provided here, so get out your red pens.
  • No 'Flashback' re-reviews in this issue.
  • A call to PSM's tip line will cost you $1.49 per minute, with an average call length of 3 minutes. At that rate, for an additional fifty cents, you could just buy a back-issue of PSM. :)
  • Thanks 2
