The Official Nintendo Magazine is actually a collection of 3 magazines, all published by EMAP consecutively.
The magazine started off when the Mean Machines magazine was split into a Nintendo magazine on one side
and a Sega dedicated magazine on the other.
The Sega part became Mean Machines Sega, and the Nintendo part was turned into Nintendo Magazine System.
After 53 issues the name was changes into Nintendo Magazine,
and by issue 69 the name was changed again into Nintendo Official Magazine.


In March 2006 EMAP lost the official Nintendo license to Future Publishing,
which ended the publishers run in British videogame magazines.
