  1. Play Online No.011 (April 1999)

Once again, this is the most hardcore serious gaming mag to ever hit the shelves in Japan.  I'd wager not a single reader of this mag has any plastic figurines of half-naked anime girls on their shelf or so much as a single item of Nintendo-related memorabilia in their possession.  Nope, this mag targets adults, and not the kind that plays x-rated visual novels, either.
On a side note, this issue was the glue-iest magazine I've ever seen.  There was glue all over the pages, so much so that even after debinding, I had to cut away portions of the page that had glue spilled all over them so it wouldn't damage my scanner and then reconstruct those missing bits in Photoshop.  The end result is just as pretty as always, never fear.

  2. Tech Gian Issue 019 (May 1998)

ADULTS ONLY.  In addition to the previews of the bazillion and one adult games released every month in Japan, this issue's highlight might just be a feature article which covers the history of adult animated videos in Japan, discussing the highlights and providing what I assume is a thorough release list of videos released from 1984-1997.  You know, in case you've got an urge to "collect em all" and the only jigglypuffs you're interested aren't the Pokemon variety.
I uploaded an ISO rip of the cover disc at the Internet Archive here: https://archive.org/details/techgian019may1998   Be aware that getting the demos to run on a modern computer is going to be troublesome, since they were designed for Win95.  But it's there nonetheless.

  3. Famitsu Issue 0669 (October 12, 2001)

Scanned 6 months ago, I've finally gotten around to finishing the editing on this.  But what's an extra 6 months when you've been already been waiting since 2001 to get a copy of this issue? 😋  And remember, if you enjoy scans like this, be sure to click the "like" button .  It's such a small thing to do, but your scanners will greatly appreciate it, I assure you. (Just be sure do do it here at Retromags where we'll see it, not somewhere else like a new release post on facebook or twitter)

Family Computer Magazine is (unlike most other Japanese magazines) printed in Japanese right-to-left format.  For those unaware, that means that the front cover is where the back cover is on a Western magazine, and thus the spine is on the right side.  Once opened, the pages are read beginning with the page on the right and moving across to the left page.  When using a CBR reader to read a single page at a time, this won't cause too many problems, but if you put the reader into two-page mode, the left and right facing pages will be in the wrong order.  Thus, it is strongly suggested that when reading this magazine, you set your CBR reader to it's Japanese mode (almost all CBR readers have one for reading manga), which will automatically display the pages in the correct order.
For anyone unfamiliar with this mag - it was the first Famicom/NES magazine in the world, predating Famitsu by a year.  And although Famitsu would ultimately end up out-lasting Family Computer Magazine by expanding their coverage to all consoles, from a collector's viewpoint, issues of Famimaga (as it is usually referred to) seem to typically be more desireable/valuable than Famitsu issues of similar vintage.

Featuring lots of games for the PlayStation, Dreamcast, Saturn, and PC that you've probably never heard of since not a single one of them made it out of Japan.  Every single one of them containing a cast of anime girls that squeal "KYAAAA!!!" when your character accidentally trips and falls against them, grabbing two handfuls of breasts as he catches himself.😀

天地を喰らう Tenchi o Kurau, "The Devouring of Heaven and Earth" (released in the USA as Destiny of an Emperor) is an RPG developed and published by Capcom for the Famicom on May 19, 1989.
天地を喰らう - 完全攻略本 Tenchi o Kurau - Kanzen Koryakubon "The Devouring of Heaven and Earth - Perfect Strategy Guide" is a supplement of Family Computer Magazine issue 80 (June 2, 1989).
In order to preserve the page numbering and layout of the rest of the issue, I have moved the fold-out two-sided map/data poster to the end of the magazine.
PLEASE NOTE!!!! - Family Computer Magazine (and its supplements) are printed Japanese-style, meaning that the magazine's spine is on the right side and pages are opened from the left.  Thus, once opened, the pages are read from right to left, with the right page coming before the left page.  In order for the pages to display correctly if viewing in two-page mode, "Japanese mode" should be enabled.  In Cdisplay, this is easily accomplished via the CTRL-J hotkey (or through the configure menu).  If viewing in single page view, the pages will display in the proper order regardless, though keep in mind that again, each page is read from right to left.

This game is one in the popular and long-running Kunio-kun series of games (including such classics as Renegade, River City Ransom, and Super Dodge Ball) originated by Technos Japan and currently developed and published by Arc System Works.  It was released for the Famicom on October 12, 1990 and features Nekketsu High School competing against three other teams in a series of four athletic events. Up to four players can participate.
Although this game was never released outside of Japan, it was very successful and is one of the games included on the Japanese version of the NES Classic Edition (Nintendo Classic Mini: Family Computer ).
