Wow this guide is HELLA lame. It only has the same concept art that was in every single magazine from the time, and the screenshots of the game are literally just pictures taken of the CRT TV! And this is an official guide?! It's just flat out UGLY.

Correct. At least the spell is broken now; there are many better fan-made guides for Symphony available on the Web. Well, BradyGames has had quite a few "missed shots" in its long list of guide releases, the one for Crisis Core: FINAL FANTASY Ⅶ has wrong/outdated information on it (and that even back to the original PSP release, not merely the recent HD one).

I seem to remember reading or hearing somewhere that there was a bidding war between Prima and Brady for the rights to make the "official" guide to this game, but the process took so long (and each was so anxious to beat the other to market with the book) that the book wound up extremely rushed, with a turnaround measured in weeks as opposed to months. Konami also didn't provide much assistance in the way of art assets or anything to Brady for some reason, which accounts for the quality, or lack thereof.

It's a pity, really, that such a phenomenal game was stuck with such a disappointing official guidebook. :)
