The time saving is minimal on most mags since most pages don't have borders, and especially with Japanese mags, two-page ads and background images on articles that stretch across facing pages are common, so there will still be plenty of pages that have to be merged and relatively few that can be ignored.  However, I've been scanning supplements lately, and most of them have a consistent page design throughout the length of the book, meaning that every single page has a border connecting to the facing page.  But again, from now on, I'm ignoring borders and will only seamlessly merge and split pages were an actual image (or text, of course) extends across facing pages.

Here is a third strategy guide for 1991's Wizardry Gaiden I: Suffering of the Queen for the Game Boy (in case you haven't heard, they're nuts for Wizardry in Japan).  This one is nice as it features lots of screenshots in 4 glorious shades of green, just like the real thing (OK, maybe yellow and brown).  None of this black and white nonsense shown in the other guides.

Never scanned one of these before (just the supplements.)  The PC Engine is a system I've never really taken the time to learn about, but it's intriguing to me simply because of what a long-lived success it was in Japan (1987-1999!!) despite its complete failure to make a significant mark in the US market as the TurboGrafx16.  And since only about 1/5 of the games were ever released in the US, there's a large catalog of little known gems/garbage to discover sifting through a magazine like this.

Stupid page joins.  I hope somebody out there reads these things in two-page viewing mode.  And not the kind that puts a space between the two pages like a PDF reader does so you can't even tell if the pages join seamlessly or not.

Two guides for the Game Boy Japanese exclusive Wizardry Gaiden III: Scripture of the Dark:

This was the final game in the Wizardry Gaiden series to be released on the Game Boy.  The 4th game in the series was made for the Super Famicom.

Here's a rather obscure guide for the 1990 RPG Tunnels & Trolls - Crusaders Of Khazan

I never played this game and really have no idea if it's any good, but I DO very clearly remember the ad for the game and the box art, which featured a giant winged more-or-less naked chick:

Somehow, I suspect I would have no recollection whatsover of the game if they had used the artwork from the Japanese guide instead.

Giant naked lady or horseman of death?

To be honest, it's absolutely shocking that Japan eschewed giant boobs for something tasteful.  Clearly 1990 was a different time...

Archive.org hasn't derived my files in over 48 hours.  What a #$%^ website...

So the previews aren't working, but I'm not going to wait for the "up to a week" that their upload process takes to complete.  The cbr can still be downloaded regardless.

Anyway, here's an artbook for the first 5 games in the Can Can Bunny series of games.  These are adult games for Japanese computers, but a couple of them ended up on the Sega Saturn in edited form.

Here's a guide for Last Armageddon, a post-apocalyptic RPG developed and published by BrainGrey for various Japanese computers as well as the Famicom and PC Engine CDROM.  This guide specifically covers the PC-98 version.  A while back I scanned a 52-page guide for the PC Engine CD version that was published as a supplement to Gekkan PC Engine.  At 264 pages, this one is obviously much longer, but very different in presentation.  Lots of info, but very little in the way of color or graphics.

Page stupide rejoint. J'espère que quelqu'un lit ces choses en mode de visualisation de deux pages. Ce genre a été lu entre un lecteur de fichier PDF, vous ne pouvez pas dire que les pages sont jointes de manière transparente ou non.

Hey Hey.  It's the last (I think) post I'll make for a guide to a Wizardry game for the Game Boy.  (Other Wizardry games, on the other hand...)

This one covers three separate games, those being remakes of Wizardry I, II, and III which were simultaneously released for the Game Boy Color in 2001.

New issue of Gamest uploaded.  Issue 106 was a special edition which focused exclusively on 1993's Fatal Fury Special.

Gamest numbering is a mess, at a certain point they started to thorw in all kind of extras and special using the regular monthly magazine numbering, sometimes even stuff unrelated to the arcade games or the Gamest brand

I think what you meant to say was "All Japanese magazine numbering is a mess..." for exactly the reasons you said.  Unfortunately, it's incredibly rare for a Japanese magazine to only include a single regularly published title in its numbering system. 😣
