WTB: Old issues of Tips & Tricks Magazine (mostly pre-1998, a few from 08-10)

Hello hello!

I’m looking for (mostly) early issues of Tips & Tricks magazine for my collection.

Condition isn’t a huge deal to me, the magazines just can’t be literally falling apart. My only requirements are that A. The cover is present and intact, and B. There are no missing pages / binding is fully intact. Otherwise, page creases, folds, minor tears, etc. are acceptable for the most part.

As for particular issues I’m looking for, this is my current collection spreadsheet; as noted in the key at the bottom, I’m looking for anything in either red or yellow.

A few things of note about “non-standard” issues: In September of 98’, T&T created a full strategy guide for Mortal Kombat 4. It was the only time they produced a standalone strategy guide. Also of note is the listing for April of 1998 – this issue was the only issue released with two different covers, one for Canada, and one for the rest of the world. I have the worldwide cover, so I’m missing the Canadian counterpart. Lastly, “Tips & Tricks” released their last numbered issue in August of 2007. Following this, they continued to release “Tips & Tricks Videogame Codebook” issues up until the final issue, in January of 2011. These issues were released less frequently, and had a lot of the features of the original magazine removed, in lieu of straight up cheat-codes and mini strategy guides.

In addition to my spreadsheet, I also have a quick-reference image of every cover from the missing issues on my list, as well as a (possibly easier to read) text list.

I have the February 2010 issue, according to my own spreadsheet, though I did take the poster out. I still have the poster, and it's in a frame.

The Wii Sports Resort cover looks familiar, which make me think I might have it, but I don't have it listed. I just might be remembering seeing it on the newsstands for a couple of months. I mostly bought the magazine for the awesome posters they included.

Ah, nuts. Thanks for the offer! But I already acquired that issue since I made this original post. Sorry for the confusion x.x

I haven't found anywhere to edit the original post / thread title, but since posting, i've acquired all "modern" issues of the magazine.

Currently, i'm looking for issues from January 1998 and backward.

This is my updated listing:

I had April 1997 three years ago, but it sacrificed itself in order to get scanned.

Awh. Rest in peace, issue #26.

That's something i'm going to hopefully be able to do in the near future, as my collection nears completion. When I eventually upgrade my scanner, i've been checking out the Fujitsu ScanSnap series, so I can contribute to archiving all of the issues of Tips & Tricks without destroying my collection. The ScanSnap series is made with scanning books / magazines in mind, so it can be set to auto-scan every time you turn a page, and then it will automatically digitally-adjust each image to 'flatten' the pages out so there aren't any image distortions where the pages bend into the bindings.

Well, my collection is nearing completion. This is the updated list of issues i'm seeking (just a few!)

Some explanation for 2 of the somewhat “odd” issues on my list.

-In September of 98’, T&T created a full strategy guide for Mortal Kombat 4. It was the only time they ever produced a standalone strategy guide.

-The listing for April of 98’ – this issue was the only issue released with two differently designed covers; one was special for Canada, to celebrate the return of ReBoot, and the other was for the rest of the world. I have the worldwide cover, so I’m missing the Canadian ReBoot counterpart.

These are the 6 issues I’m looking for.

April 1998 (#38 CANADA):  ReBoot

Thanks!
