My friend, anything on Zendaya is hot. :)

I have mixed feelings about Dune. I've tried to read the original novel multiple times and failed (it's so ridiculously boring). The 80's movie is watchable due to Kyle MacLachlan. The 2000 Sci-Fi Channel mini-series, I couldn't get through the first episode. I'm probably going to give this one a pass as well. Dune just isn't my thing, apparently. But I hope for Frank Herbert's sake this film succeeds; it seems every previous attempt to bring it to the screen in some manner has failed, fizzled, or flopped, and Herbert's too important a name in sci-fi to have his legacy eternally bound to Sting in a stunning metal codpiece and nothing else. :)

Today is a good day.. the part 2 sequel has been green lit due to the movie performing well despite the pandemic and Warner bros streaming antics.

And my Art of Dune book has arrived (to go with my old Art of Blader Runner 2049 one heh). Now if the bloody movie itself would come out here in Australia some time soon that would be great too. 🤣

Well in the end I enjoyed the film a lot.. but I dunno if it quite fully lived up to my grand expectations (fueled by my mega love of David Lynch's crazy original film and Dennis's amazing Blade Runner 2049). Nevertheless I'm looking forward to part 2 and am pleased that they did a 3D blu-ray release (despite 3D being dead) which I'm importing to Aus as it will be interesting to re-watch it in 3D.

Oh and I recently read the art books above too. Really really good! Maximum recommendation for your coffee tables lol.
