ScanSnap Manager software for fi7160 needed

I read on this site that the ScanSnap software produces better scans from the fi7160, but Fujitsu will only allow me to download this very badly designed PaperStream Capture software.

Can anyone help as I am not very happy with the scans coming out of this expensive scanner and may return it before the 1/31 return date.

I am hoping though with some tweaking it can work well as it flies thru scanned a debound magazine.
