Do You Go For 100% On Games?

When you play a video game, do you try to finish everything 100% every time or do you simply finish the game once (beating the final boss/making it through all the levels) without going back?

I typically try to get 100%, especially if there are unlockable extras involved. The last few games that I got 100% on were WarioWare: Smooth Moves, New Super Mario Bros, Tetris DS, and Mario Kart DS. I'm also going back through Super Mario 64 and trying to get all 120 stars again but it is tougher than I remember.

I never finish a game. The last games that I actually finished all the way through was the Donkey Kong series. I feel like the games these days take so much time. I play games until I get bored and then play the next game. I know it's sort of crappy to do it that way but we all have different entertainment values in our minds. I'm more into comptetive games against another person. Usually sport games, most wii games, and guitar hero are fun.

I've found that the more I work at those percents the less I enjoy the game. Finding everything is kinda stinky and tiresome so if I want to enjoy a game I just play it without too much mechanical searching or char building.

I generally go for 100% content, although I often limit it to the "official" 100%; that is, if there is a counter that tells completion as in GTA, I hit that and might not do every single thing there is to do. I'm more likely not to finish a game at all if I lose interest in getting 100%.
