Nintendo not ruling out 2007 for first ever WiiWare release

Recommended Posts

A high profile Nintendo executive has failed to rule out 2007 as the year of the first ever release on their WiiWare service, however the safe bet seems to be on 2008 welcoming the first release by developers. The same exec also indicated that its the end of the road for the Gameboy series.

R.I.P. Gameboy. I hope that Nintendo gets wise to the idea of a Gameboy compilation on the DS. How cool would it be to have about 15 or 20 first party GB titles on a DS cart?

My list would be:

Super Mario Land 1 & 2

Wario Land 1, 2, & 3

Tetris

Link's Awakening (with DX or original option)

Kirby's Dream Land 1 & 2

Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong Land 1, 2, & 3

Pokemon Red/Blue

Pokemon Gold/Silver

Alleyway

Solar Striker

A compilation like that could provide tons of retro handheld fun.

A compilation of games would be good but they would have released them on the GBA it would be a waste of the touch screen abilitys.

it's really sad to see the end of the GB. at least it went out with a bang with the FFVI rerelease.

to be honest, there's more titles on it that i like than the DS...that is, until Front Mission comes out.
