Government set to regulate computer games in India

Highly controversial titles such as Grand Theft Auto may not be legally available to purchase in Indian soon. The move comes after Mrs Pataudi realized that the game Jigdaw Killer was banned in the UK and drafted a proposal to censor and regulate the kind of games that hit the Indian market.

This is the 1st time I've heard of "Jigdaw Killer."

Anyway, the government's decision is stupid, as far as I'm concerned. If people can't buy the games in their own stores, they'll order them internationally, or download copies of the games - legally or illegally (the former types of downloads are becoming more prevalent, what with the popularity and ease of services like Valve's Steam).

Politicians should work on smoothing over relations with Pakistan instead of focusing on trivial things like video games. Or maybe they should do something practical, like make telemarketing calls illegal (I'm sick and tired of having people from India call me up and try to sell me s**t like insurance for my credit cards; they keep calling, no matter how many times I tell them not to and demand that they take me off their call list).

I really don't see how M rated games hurt kids. I played many back in my day and I came out normal.

I agree on games rating because there are some kids that are not that smart and do have trouble understanding reality from a game. But I do not believe in censure.
