So with MigJmz releasing a scan that Phillyman did that I also scanned and edited after buying the issue on eBay, we seem to have an issue with communication on who is working on what. Maybe we need one thread where people can post what they are working on so people can quickly check what's being worked on.

For the record, the following scans are forthcoming (some are replacement scans), so don't scan them yourself :).

Anyone is free to scan and edit their own copy of anything I'm working on (though I doubt anyone else owns the stuff I scan, anyway).  I scan and edit in order meet my own expectations, and as such I'd probably prefer my own edit over anyone else's, so it wouldn't be a total loss.

Of course, supposing anyone did own something in my scan pile and released it before I started working on it, I could save myself the bother and keep a mag intact for once.  Win all around.

In your case, you're right though.  When you've got dozens of already completed edits just sitting around in a queue, it makes sense to let people know that they're already finished and ready to go.  Likewise when Phillyman drops a hundred new unedited scans into the QNAP, anyone with designs on them needs to state their intentions clearly.

This might be a good opportunity to compare the scan quality of the ix500 and the ix1500 if the raws from both scans are still around.

I keep all my raw scans. I did some tests with Phillyman to compare the two scanners before I started using it and the difference is almost non-existent. I haven't had to scan any flouro colours yet, which my fi7160 is supposed to be able to handle.

Even the ix500 does fluoro all right, so I'm sure the fi7160 is good.

Pretty much every cover of Play Online I've scanned is fluoro.  The orange could use more pop, but at least it isn't washed out like a lesser scanner would do.

I'm not doing issue 230 as far as I know. But I received 180-229 in the donation, so chances are they are already prepped and going through scanning for Melki to edit.

However, I am not doing issue 200 because some ad insert in the magazine was pretty much glued to a page and I could not separate them with the page tearing apart. So if you have that one, You can work on it without fear of me having prepped it.

There is another issue I may not doing. It's either 187 or 190. I stole one of them because it was missing from my collection, but I thinking I definitely pulled the wrong one and sliced up the one I actually needed. I'll let you know tonight.

dammit you're making it hard to contribute anything to RM :P

can you tell me which gamepros you AREN'T DOING? From issues 180 to 230 range.

So it's issue 190 that's not in my pile to scan. So if you happen to have it or issue 200, there's no chance of me scanning them in the next little while. Phillyman has another copy of 190 for me, but he's had it for two years, so it might be a while before I get it 😋

EDIT: Add Issue 195 to the list of issues I won't be scanning. My copy is missing four pages.

Just when I think I might be making some progress on the magazines Civicminded donated and that I'll sun have less magazines in the house, this large box arrives filled with Nintendo Power and some other odds and ends.

Thanks to Benjamin who contacted us using the contact form and sending these all the way from Finland 🇫🇮
