meppi
Not much is know at the moment but it looks like it's going to be an updated port. link Never got to play Chrono Trigger, so I'm very excited!
meppi
Small update. It's definitely an enhanced port and not a remake like Square/Enix is doing with Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. So I'm happy about this since I never got to play the original.
Retromags Curator E-Day Posted July 5, 2008 Retromags Curator Share Posted July 5, 2008 Same here. I have the rerelease on PSone, but never got around to playing it. This will be a must-buy for me.
boxinabox
Lets hope they don't ruin it by forcing you to do every thing using the touch screen
Melki
It should be a remake not a port, i gonna c it but i dont gonna buy it
Flood7585
I own/have played (and beaten) both the SNES original and PS1 port. So I probably won't be picking this one up; but it'll be interesting to see/hear on the internet and from friends how they've tweaked and updated it for an 'enhanced port'. Like if they put in new abilities like they've done for the FF IV remake on the DS.

Retromags Curator Phillyman Posted August 14, 2008 Retromags Curator Share Posted August 14, 2008 There's another version of the trailer here: You do know you can embed video's by using this tag [yt]q75gREOjyFI[/yt]
Schloss Ritter
Heh, another victim of the RightRoll. That's Right, not the passe rickroll but a new variation. And I thought of embedding, but that would spoil the surprise, eh?
Saber08
Didn't they 'upgrade' the PS1 version? I mean, didn't they add some artwork or something to it? I can't remember. Anyways, I'm looking forward to this game, too.
Rick
I really loved this game, in the SNES mostly than in the PS1, so I think anything related to Chrono Trigger must be cool, like the movie hopefully!
Schloss Ritter
Didn't they 'upgrade' the PS1 version? I mean, didn't they add some artwork or something to it? I can't remember. Anyways, I'm looking forward to this game, too. The PS1 port added a few anime FMV cutscenes, which you can probably find all of them on Youtube. The PS1 version, being CD based, also had load times for everything (even menus), which was quite disconcerting to fans of the original SNES instant-loading cartridge. Gameplay mechanics were unchanged from the SNES to PS1. So far I've heard that CT for the DS will be more along the lines of the GBA ports of FFIV-FFVI - a little bonus stuff but no major 3D overhaul like the last couple DS ports. Chrono Trigger has pretty nice 2D sprite graphics anyway, and the game mechanics are already pretty solid. So, they don't really need to add much, in my opinion. zh666
I probably won't pick this up since I've played it more times than I can remember, but it does seem like they're re-translating it. In one of the trailers they changed the name of Ayla or whatever to something else. I imagine there will be alot of differences from the SNES version. sekhmet85
I never owned an American PSone so I'm very excited, it's supposed to be the greatest RPG ever and finally us Europeans will be able to play it too.
farmdoggg
I believe that they should keep it as it was for the Snes. I'm sure based off this post most Ds owners haven't gotten a chance to play this amazing game.
Andremop
hmm... what's to enhance??? (on second thought, they could actually put that missing quest on the cartrige this time!)
