ROCKSTAR6000
What NES game was the one you wanted so much to beat but no mater what you could not figure it out? For me it was King's Quest 5, for months I saved for it and was one of the last NES carts I got as a new release, I tried forever to figure it out but it seemed kinda complicated to me at the time, or maybe it was cause I was too busy going out partying too much to have time for it LOL. I eventually beat it on an emulator and using an online Walkthru, I know I'm a cheater LOL But I finnaly got my money's worth!!
Retromags Curator Phillyman Posted September 9, 2008 Retromags Curator Share Posted September 9, 2008 I still cant beat the first or third mario bros! I technically only beat the second one on the Gameboy Advance......one of these days!!!!!
Saber08
I'm currently pulling my hair out playing SMB: The Lost Levels on the VC. Some of those jumps you have to make are brutal. Legacy of the Wizard is a game I could never beat. I eventually resorted to looking at maps and guides...

EDIT: I did complete the first play-through of GNG, but I was out of lives by the time it was over. I think I only made it to stage 1 or 2 on the second play-through. mattrob24
Toughest NES games: Batman Ninja Gaiden Ghosts N Goblins I did manage to beat Batman...twice. It took many, many hours and attempts...and this was after weeks of playing it over and over again. I would never have the patience to even try now. Besides, I'm in my mid-30's. I don't have teenage reflexes any more.
Mysterio
Solomon's Key. Great game but very hard, but then again there were TONS of tough games back then, due to the fact that controls were often shoddy lol.
BoOYa
For some reason i found Contra (Probotector) hard to complete. I was probably to young or something but i kept dying even with the Spreadgun. Another game that i found hard was Jurassic Park... Never got past the Triceratops :'(
perudon
Bionic Commando is *still* stinkin' hard. I don't think I ever passed Contra without the cheat code. I concur with others who have said that Ghosts and Goblins was hard.
farmdoggg
Blaster Master for the NES was the hardest game. The only way that I could beat it was with save states on an emulator.

mikando
mission impossible for the nes was so hard, I could only get to the end by using a game genie only to get beaten by the computer when you have to play that stupid chess game. Rayman
There are many too hard games on NES. The first Mario... no doubt. I wonder, is there anyone in the world who managed to complete it all?
MathUser
Battletoads is surely the most difficult. There was a few tough games that I got almost to the end on with practice, but not battletoads. Even the secret warps only let you preview different levels, they don't really help you get far on your own.
Andremop
Agree on battletoads. It's strange, but 60 to 70% of the NES games I played I coudn't beat! Producers were mean at that time!

frazelguapo
Battletoads TMNT 1 and Ninja Gaiden series was ridiculous for me at that young age. Also at the age of 7 trying to beat Lygar in Rygar was crazy.
