I am selling my Video Game and Video Game Magazine Collection. I have over 500 videogame mags and have started selling some, but wanted to organize them first. One of them that I came across was a magazine I have not been able to find anywhere -- even on Google. The magazine is dated Winter 1988 and is Vol 1, No 1 and is titled "the Game Player's Guide to Nintendo" publisher is listed as: "A Signal Research Publication - Not Affiliated with Nintendo of America". Has anyone seen this magazine on any sites -- EBay, etc... Ultimately, I want to sell it and thought someone on Retromags might be able to shed some light on its value.

Thanks RSmuz

Wish I'd known about this site when I was going through my collection and getting them out of my house. Would've worked better here than the library donation bin (well, maybe; I think the vast majority of my collection, which was EGMs and Nintendo Powers from the last 7 or 8 years, is too recent for folks' needs here).

I'd be willing to part with these for around a dollar apiece, and the recipient would have to pay shipping. If I could scan right now, I'd focus on filling in the gaps with Game Players/Ultra Game Players and Next Generation, as I value the former for its offbeat humor and the latter for its editorial quality. However, my scanning abilities are very limited right now.

While I don't really have my old magazines anymore, god knows where those ended up, I do have a whole load of Instruction Manuals, and while those don't really have a place here, in the stacks I found some "Catalogs" of sorts that might fit into the "Flyers and Promotional Books" sections.

I tried searching, and I didn't find these, so correct me if they are already on here.

This is what I found so far.

A ©2002 Blizzard catalog, With an early World of Warcraft add (Pre-Release) and featuring Warcraft 3

A ©1999 "3DO Company" catalog, with a "Letter" from Trip Hawkins, featuring a host of Army Men games and the like.

If they are not on here, and would fit, I would be happy to drag out the old scanner and scan them for you guys :)

I just sent a text message to my mom back home asking if she still has my old magazines from college in stock. I have, like, a shitload of EGM, EGM2, GamePro, Tips & Tricks, and those annual EGM Video Game Buyers Guide from 1995~1999 (basically my college days).

I'm seriously hoping they still haven't junked the whole lot yet. I still keep them in their plastic bags.

Here's what I got:

Nintendo Fun Clubs 1,2,4,5,6 (missing that ever elusive volume 3 that goes for insane money on eBay)

Nintendo Power Volumes 1-136. Then it stops for a while until Issue 198. I had stopped subscribing for a bit during the Gamecube Era. I started subscribing again and have just about all the issues right up until the last one (R.I.P :( )

I'm still working on collecting the missing issues. In fact the whole reason I found Retromags was because I wanted a way to read my Nintendo Powers on my iPad so that A: I wouldn't have to disrupt some of the older, more brittle issues from the 1980s, and B: Not have to paw through each issue to find what I'm looking for. So this worked out great.

I *had* the first 100 or so issues of Gamepro but those are sadly lost to time. Another set of mags I'm glad is on this site. I actually miss the retro advertisements the most.

I'm still a subscriber to Game Informer but as a former Gamestop Employee back in my college days who was required to push them on each customer I don't really have an attachment to them.
