Bad Influence! Magazine?

Apparently the show "Bad Influence!" (more about that here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bad_Influence!) had two magazine print issues (shown here: http://www.bad-influence.co.uk/mag.htm). These have been provided on their website already, but I was wondering if there were any other issues that may be unknown? Or what about other magazines that their staff has worked on? The TV show was very good and these magazines were nice, they provided some good insight.

There is also a teletext magazine named 'BUZZ!" presented through a teletext format that revealed the working title of this show. Has there been any effort to preserve teletext magazines? The nature of the format makes me doubt it but I was just curious.

Ah, Bad Influence. That brings back memories... Not necessarily good ones, though. One irritation was the presenter’s insistence on saying "sness". This and the fact that it looked like a children’s show through and through didn't help - teenagers don't like being patronised. No, GamesMaster was the videogaming TV show to watch in the early 90s and nothing came close to the formula, and presenting, they had going there. As for the Bad Influence mag, well you'll be lucky to find any copies of these around. I don't think it sold well at all - hence why there were only a few issues.

Teletext mags didn't really get a good press, either, although that was a bit unfair as they were probably more professional than most printed mags. It would be nice to see archives of Digitiser or GameCentral appear (GameCentral even still exists here), but I think archiving teletext mags might be even harder to do than rare printed mags. Perhaps the companies or people behind them have the old issues backed up somewhere.

Digitiser had fantastic recognition in the UK, it was arguably the most read gaming publication, although I probably wouldn't go as far as describing reveal-o's as "professional".

I don't think teletext had a proper archiving system though. Biffo has mentioned previously how he was never much of an archivist, so a lot of his stuff was lost.

Hahaha oh my god I was also wondering what was up with that. I've even run into a few other people who have called it that now, I'm glad to hear it irritates someone else. :P

I'll see if I can check out some of the names you guys have dropped, it's a shame that it sounds like the teletext information didn't get archived.

Oh, yeah. There's no doubt Digitiser was well recognised - being freely available to millions of viewers helps. No doubt the publishing industry resented this fact. There's some articles on Stuart Campbell's website that he wrote for Digitiser (http://worldofstuart.excellentcontent.com/world/digi.htm). He also states in his pages that Digitiser had "a phenomenal readership of around 1.5 million," but was "almost totally ignored by the games industry in favour of print mags with circulations 2% of the size."
