Let's just say I ran into quite a few Gameboy Advance games and I need to know what you all think of the Special Project Gameboy Advance. Right now I'm leaning toward the original design because of larger shoulder buttons.

Ignore the original GBA in favour of the SP if you can find a Model ASG-101 as opposed to the original SP model ASG-001. The backlit screen makes all the difference in the world, believe me, and the original GBA was uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time. Even better would be to just get a DS, as it plays GBA games perfectly as well as DS titles, and it'll only run you a bit more money.

Although I really like the look of the original GBA, I prefer the SP. It's a design classic. It's got the backlit screen and the cool clam shell design which help's protect the screen and make's it even more portable.

I play my GBA game's on my DS now but if I was to buy a GBA, it would definitely be the SP. :gbasp2:

I just bought the NES themed SP off of a friend last week. Originally I had a blue one but my ex-gf's kid destroyed it. Really, I just keep my GBA and SP around as Game Cube controllers for games that have that as a feature. The SP is really nice, at first I thought the orientation of the system reminded me of the original Gameboy, and the seashell design made it very portable. The SP was even more portable than todays consoles. Damned PSP is so bulky, I use the original model and a Logitech carying case. Fits in my pocket, but it's the only thing that will. Shouldn't complain though, with all the games you can fit on a 16GB memory stick, I guess it's worth it. I just carry a man-purse everywhere now. Too many damned portable items, NDS Lite, PSP, and Netbook, along with AC cords for them all, USB cord for the PSP (My whole PSP library is on the netbook hard drive really), as well as a wired 360 controller and a generic USB PS2 style controller for the netbook (For MAME). And I carry this EVERYWHERE I go, work, friend's houses, EVERYWHERE.

I miss "just" having an SP, keys and my wallet in my pocket. Damnit if Micro$oft releases a handheld >.<

You remind me of the Nuby Kid! :P

My daughter loves GBA SP.

It has nice screen and it's great mobile retro-console if you own Flash Card. (Emulates NES, GB (no color) and Sega Master System at full speed!)

You can also play a lot of homebrew software including 'Out of This World' aka 'Another World' as well as 'backups'. :)

One thing I got with GBA was battery addition. (GBA SP can work ~24 hour with single charge) It was 16 bucks back in 2005 when I got it. :)
