This game had THE worst ending on the NES ever. Period.

You went all the way through the game, slaughtered all the bosses, beat the major baddie in the final level, and your reward?

A black screen with white letters reading, "GAME OVER." The exact same screen you see when you lose your last life during normal game play.

What a treat. :)

The fact that they had to define "Shuriken" proves the lack of general public familiarity with the ninja mythos at the time, heh.

Yeah, if you were a child in the 80s, you knew what Shuriken were. If you were older, you called them "throwing stars" or "Chinese stars". Thank goodness I was a kid in the 80s. :)
