Why is an xBox Live Gamer Tag Required?

Simple question really. I don't have an xBox so I don't have a gamer tag. But it's required information in my profile.

Why?

I don't know, actually. I never noticed that it was required when I took the site over. I will make it optional.

Most likely a mistake I made, but I may have done it to throw off the spam bots. I am sure E-day unchecked the "required" box

Once I was able to find it in that mess of an admin control panel I did. It is now no longer required.

Lol, this must have been after I signed up. You know there's no way in hell I'd touch a 360 (no games I can't get elsewhere) and to be told it's required would probably cause me to bash the place from other sites. It's fun enough eliminating pro-360 bias without more sites piling on top.

I'm aware the last post is in April but come on, half the topics around here are quiet since last year.

I don't mind old threads being brought back. Most of them are good and it's nice to hear a new viewpoint on em. Hell, at least people are talking again.

I float through enough forums as it is, and should reduce my online time to keep attacking my gaming backlog. And yeah the lack of activity isn't really attracting people but hey if I drop some posts we'll see if things move a little.
