Well as many of you can see, I have been working behind the scenes to fix up this great website. Many times when I fix one issue, another one crops up, but over the past few days I have been able to get quite a bit accomplished.

NEW URL's

As you can see gone are the days of retromags.com/forums/blah. Now I was a novice back in 2005 at this website stuff, and I just placed the entire Retromags website into the /forums/ directory. Years later I have learned that a subdomain for the forums is the way to go. So now the Retromags Website will exist at

http://www.retromags.com

and our community will exist on

http://community.retromags.com

One of the main issues with this change was setting up appropriate redirect's so that existing links from websites that mention us.....don't show a 404 Page Not Found error. There are still a few pages that may need tender loving, but for the most part, links from Google and such....will get people to the correct location. One of the nice things about putting our forums into a sub domain is that I will be able to see a clear picture of how many users are coming to the forums, and how many are visting our content pages.

Portal is Back

When I ran the upgrade a few months ago, our Portal page (which served as the home page)....was broken! To make matters worse, it was no longer a supported module. As you may have noticed, I have a temporary portal up at http://www.retromags.com.

Well thats it for right now, but I will be posting more on what is happening around Retromags!
