Stepping up on my shaving game!

I hate shaving, always have hated it since around 7th grade when I started. My beard is soo strong, that it can withstand a kick from Chuck Norris himself. I have used dispoable razors that have 2 blades, all the way up to 5 blades. Mach 5 blades tremble in their plastic frame when they see my beard. So rather than wait for a 6 blade razor to come onto the market, I did something unusual......I went to 1 blade. My fiancee (soon to be wife) bought me a safety razor for my birthday this past July. I am really starting to think that I may have been going about shaving the wrong way for the past 20 or so years. Below is a picture of what I have so far, just wondering if anyone else out there uses a similar setup.

I've thought about going this route, and even the straight razor route, though those are really expensive. Is the safety razor really that good? I might bite the bullet and get one once I go through my remaining 14 Gillette Fusion Pro Glide blades.

I did not think 1 blade would do better than 5. I mean why should it? But once you buy the $30 safety razor, a box of 100 blades is like $9. I use 1 per shave and only shave twice a week at the moment. So I do not need blades until next year. Plus I am wasteful, I could probably get 2-3 shaves out of each blade. But at less than $0.09 a blade, why keep it around? I read reviews on the shaving cream, and that lasts around a year also.

If it's good enough for Emma Watson, Natalie Portman, Rihanna, Victoria Beckham, Winona Ryder, Halle Berry, Kiera Knightley, Michelle Williams, Mia Wasikowska, Audrey Hepburn and my own lady love, then it's obviously the right choice. ;)

But then it starts getting all itchy, and my wife will not go for the beard. Just like she knows I will not go for the pixie haircut.

Trust me, once you get past the itchy part, it's all down hill from there. And dude, the whole pixie haircut trade-off is totally worth it.

I wish I had enough facial hair to even grow a beard! I'm 31 and shave about twice a week. I could probably go a week before anyone would say anything. The good news is that there is an inverse relationship between hair growth and facial hair growth so I will probably be buried with a full head of hair. All the guys who could grow fantastic beards and goatees in high school have lost most of their hair while I still look like I'm about 23. However, just for a week or even a month I'd like to be able to rock a beard.
