Phillyman 2,199 Posted October 31, 2012 With the holiday season right around the corner Nintendo has dropped the asking price for the Wii down to $129.99 in hopes of clearing the way for the Wii U, which lands next month. The new bundle, featuring a black Wii console, along with "Wii Sports" and "Wii Sports Resort" is already hitting retailer shelves. "Nearly six years after it launched, people are still attracted to the pure, inclusive fun of the Wii console," said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "A new suggested retail price and the inclusion of two great games make it an easy choice for families looking for a great value this holiday season." The previous price drop saw the black Wii console packaged with "New Super Mario Bros. Wii" and retailed for $149.99. In my honest opinion, considering how awesome Mario is, that package is still a better deal than getting two Wii Sports games for $20 less. The only problem is going to be finding it. Schloss Ritter 6 Posted November 2, 2012 I bet backwards compatibility on a newer console really hurts sales at the end of the previous console run. I'm surprised they're not just dumping out a 99.99 version, but maybe that will come after the Wii U launch.
