Half-Life is a first-person shooter for the PC developed by Valve and published by Sierra Studios.
Released (NA): November 19, 1998

Not sure when this was released in Japan.  All sources online claim Half-Life was released in the US in November of 1998, and yet this ad (from October 1998) claims "A Super-Hot Game in America Has Finally Arrived In Japan," suggesting that there was a not-insignificant delay between the US and Japan release.  So...I dunno?
