  2. I just beat Zelda II: The Adventure of Link for the NES. Phew, that's one tough game. I also beat Dead Rising 3 for Xbox One. I'm currently playing Shovel Knight (Wii U), Final Fantasy (Famicom, yes the Japanese version), Sacred Citadel (Xbox 360), and will be starting Blue Dragon (Xbox 360) today.

  5. Ok I dug a little info up. That game was originally titled pre release Young Olympians. But it underwent extensive changes and was released as Barbarian as a fighting game. https://www.unseen64.net/2008/04/08/saffire-young-olympians-gc-tech-demo-proto/

  6. The only game I can think of that is even remotely similar is Sphinx on the GameCube. Which is a really good game that didn't sell well. A hidden gem if you wil. But I see no involvement of Saffite Corp. in that game. Probrably an unreleased title.

  7. Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix managed to simultaneously be everything wrong and everything right with PlayStation at the time. A friend of mine said of the series: "It's basically five minutes of load time for every minute of actual game play," and damn it, he was right. But we put up with it because, for one thing, that art style was awesome, the animated backgrounds used by spot-placing the looping FMV effects was genius, and...well, yeah, just watch that video up there. Even more amusing is the scene at the end of the first level when Hanna disconnects an obviously nude Rain from what looks like some kind of pleasure-inducing insect wall trap, which has had Rain moaning and writhing during the whole boss fight. Hanna comments on this, and Rain just shrugs it off with, "Eh...it was a cheap thrill." Yes, yes it was. Hell, even the ads screamed "COME UNTO US, YE HORNY TEENAGE BASTARDS!" 'These two ladies put the ASS in assassin' indeed. *huggles* Areala

  8. If you look at the costs then physical is actually cheaper. Prices drop much faster than digital. Stores need to move inventory. There's no such pressure on digital stores.

  9. That's one of the games bright spots. However at the time I was more into this scene from Fear Effect https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjDwo45WYv8

  11. Can't say I've seen anything involving either Don Bluth or John Goodman that I didn't like. Bluth was an amazingly talented artist, basically if you weren't Disney, you went to Bluth. Land Before Time, Last Unicorn, Fievel, etc... As for Goodman, dude is a rather well rounded actor. I keep meaning to rewatch The Big Lebowski, but haven't gotten around to it.

  12. Keep a watch then. When the glue weakens (yeah, it's glued not soldered) it'll get spotty. The ribbon cables had to remain loose so you could adjust the lenses so there's a slight outward pressure pulling them from the displays. If you've had it that long then I doubt it was ever opened. Maybe it doesn't affect all consoles. I was one of the lucky ones to get a SNES that didn't turn yellow. Nah, never had another VB to link to. Only a couple games used it.
