  4. Been looking for a clean Genesis box for years now since I never picked up the 2 that were sitting in my dad's shed for years that he threw out after spring cleaning in his shed. Most of the ones on ebay look like junk or people asking too much for decent boxes. Guy I buy plastic box protectors from has a nice one he uses to display his protector on his website. Figured I'd ask him if he was willing to sell expecting to just hear "sorry, no" but he replied back telling me he has no room for it and would gladly sell it to me for the price he paid! I couldn't pass that up! All my years of looking for a decent box was finally over. Box looks great. Styro looks great and even has the top cover. All the plastic bags there. All the literature I think is there...manual and some card. Not sure if a poster came with it or not back in the day when I got it on release day on August 14, 1989. Just thought I'd share my exciting find. I'm a nerd and like to collect my fav consoles but only if the boxes area nice. Any other nerd collectors like me?

  11. AC Odyssey. Not in a hurry to finish it. AC Origins. Done several months ago; I think it's a bit in a hurry near the end. No games very recently finished - kinda don't want to.

  13. Agreed, but I can relate to Areala's point of view (although I got there well before I turned 40). I have no problem wasting away an entire day reading comics, but I feel guilty as if I'm misusing my time whenever I play a game. I think it comes down to economy. In 30 hours, I could read who knows how many different comics, and yet in that same amount of time, I might only be able to finish one game. I realize that it's an unfair comparison, but I can't deny that I can get satisfaction from crossing lots of comics off of my list of things to read, but if I spend all day playing a single game, I feel I've mismanaged my time and have no sense of accomplishment since I've only completed a small portion of the game. If my entertainment choices were a wall and I was armed with a hammer, I'd be happier making dozens of small holes than just one large dent. (This also accounts for why I prefer uploading 200 covers to this site as opposed to editing 200 pages of a single magazine scan. 200 covers = 200 things crossed off a list. A 200pg scan = 1 thing crossed off a list.) Another factor is attention span. To be honest "spending all day playing games" has never been a problem of mine, even when I was a kid with all the time in the world. I get bored with most things within an hour and need to change things up to keep interested. It's why I rarely ever watch movies - two hours focused on a single thing tries my patience more often than not. So the closest I could ever come to playing games all day would be to alternate repeatedly between playing games and doing other activities.

  14. Only 14, huh? I applaud your choice of G.I.JOE, which is a criminally overlooked game, in my opinion. I'm going to cheat and swap out Punch-Out!! and replace it with Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! without counting that as a selection (because #$%& Mr. Dream...) Adventures of Lolo - no point adding all 3, since they're pretty similar. I'll go with this one, since I played the most. Bionic Commando - even without Hitler, this game rocks Contra - I never even try playing it without using the Konami code. I don't want a crazy hard challenge, just a fun game I can finish. Double Dragon - Is the second game better? Dunno - this is the one my nostalgia appreciates the most Double Dribble - Tecmo Bowl is a good start, but the NES had some other sports classics from a time before sports games got too realistic for casual players to enjoy G.I.JOE - As I said, this game is an overlooked masterpiece. You get to finish it not once, not twice, but three times, each more challenging than the last. Ice Hockey - I almost added Blades of Steel instead (because punching people in the face is awesome), but I think the strategy of choosing between the three types of players makes this one more fun. Kickle Cubicle - Never played this one until years later on an emulator, but it's an impressive little puzzler. Maniac Mansion - Holy balls, what a killer soundtrack this game has. Metal Gear - it kind of sucks, but there's something inescapably fascinating about it as well River City Ransom - I wish I'd owned this as a kid instead of Mickey Mousecapade, Rambo, Bad Dudes, or any other number of shitty games I owned instead. Shadowgate - OK, I guess there isn't a lot of replay value in a game like this. But every ten years or so when I forget the solutions, I can enjoy it again! Super Dodge Ball - I play dodgeball all the time since I started working in Japanese schools and it's just like this. Balls rocketing at ungodly speeds, knocking the life right out of people and sending their souls to heaven. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game - the graphics were crap compared to the arcade version, but the two-player gameplay was still just as fun.
