Notable Stuff:

  • GMR was an Electronics Boutique organ, much like Game Informer for GameStop.
  • How does the premiere issue of a mag have a letter column already, you ask? They took comments and questions from Gamers.com for publication, that's how.
  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is destroying the competition in sales on the PS2.
  • If you need a magazine to tell you to avoid The Simpsons Skateboarding, then maybe you shouldn't be playing video games in the first place.
  • That does raise an important issue though: The Simpsons is an extremely valuable licensed property, so why can't anybody make a decent game featuring them (Konami's four-player arcade game notwithstanding)?
