Interesting Stuff:

  • This issue marked the 10th anniversary of the magazine's publication since it started under the Strategy Plus name back in 1990, but the first issue under the Computer Games moniker.
  • The "Decade of Gaming" feature offers an amazing look back at the early days of the magazine, and should be of interest to any serious gaming historian. There are Top Sellings lists, some hilarious one-liners, quotes, award winners, screenshots galore, and more. It's awesome!
  • Wombat Games, a studio mainly comprised of ex-Ultima Online programmers and staff, had to stop development on their proposed MMORPG Dark Zion.
  • Dark Reign 2 earned a 4.5/5 score just like Warlords Battlecry, so why didn't it qualify for a Stamp of Approval?
  • Randy Wanker has managed to get not one but two letters printed in the pages of Computer Games by virtue of his last name alone.
  • The super-secret game referred to in "Coming Soon" is Emperor: Battle For Dune. Not sure what the secrecy is all about.
