Interesting Stuff:
-
At almost 175 pages, this is the largest issue of OPM yet.
-
Reader Anthony Ellis is utterly shocked that a magazine devoted to all things PlayStation would declare the Dreamcast a "doomed" console before it even had a chance. Yeah...how'd that work out for Sega again, Anthony...?
-
I laughed a lot harder than I should have at the "Classic Games" sidebar on page 29, where OPM suggests what different video games based on classic literature such as "The Old Man and the Sea" and "Lord of the Flies" might look like.
-
The screenshots and captions don't match in the South Park preview on page 50.
-
Another round of applause for the "License to Kill" sidebar on page 51, which points out the absurdity and idiocy behind licensed material like The A-Team and Chase the Chuckwagon on the Atari 2600, and the unlicensed Bible Adventures on the NES.
-
Reviewer and Associate Editor Mark MacDonald has a few great ideas for improving games on page 100.
-
Gosh, I wonder if Final Fantasy VIII will earn a perfect score from reviewers? Gee whiz, it did? Who would have thought...
