  1. Buh-huh? You mean with WinRar or WinZip? I'm none to savvy with this stuff. I've never converted comics; I just download and archive. And, frankly I've so far tried to avoid downloading WinRar and WinZip, because it's yet another program to take up space on the harddrive, but I'm starting to think I'm going to have to use those programs to look at what's going on inside these files (if there's anything left). I'm still wondering what's causing this in the first place. If I knew at least that, I'd be that much closer to fixing the problem. I'm just hoping the information is still in those files - it's just become unreadable for some reason.
  2. Yes, I'm using Windows XP SP2. And I said in my first post that I was using CDisplay. When I "Open With" CDisplay I just get a grey screen saying page 0/0 like nothing's there (and, as I said, many of these were completely functional at one time). "Then choose CDisplay as the program to open it with and make sure the radio is checked to always use this program to open files of this type." - What? I have Comic Book Archive files set to open with CDisplay, but what 'radio' are you talking about? And as for PDFs - most of these files were downloaded as CBR/CBZ - I didn't make them and, if I'm not mistaken, many of them aren't available in another format. And I don't know how to convert them to PDF, but wouldn't they have to be functional first? There has to be someone who knows what's causing this. I've had this happen to all sorts of Comic Book Archive files ever since I was aware of the format, so I doubt it's a rare problem and when I've deleted and gone back and re-downloaded the torrent or whatever it's been the same files that fail again, which also makes me doubt it's just my computer.
  3. Hello, I've been having a problem with Comic Book Archive files and I hoped that someone here might be able to help. My problem is that some of my CBR and CBZ files (it happens with both) always work, but some will work fine multiple times and then (seemingly at random) *POOF* I select their icon and I don't even see a thumbnail, I can't open them and I get this for a menu when I right-click: Open--Open With...--Send To > and that's it. And I can never get them to work again. Hell, I can't even DELETE them. I've, for all intents and purposes, out of the blue, lost a file which I could have had for months. Does anyone know why this keeps happening? I use CDisplay to read the files.
