  1. After the awesomeness that was Cosmic Smash, I was awaiting these, which just arrived: Blood Factory and WipEout XL (or Loaded and WipEout 2097) Street Fighter III Double Impact and Street Fighter III 3rd Strike: Jajamaru Jr. Denshouki + Hajime no Ippon + KOF EX2 ..... Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 + Lufia Ruins of Lore
  2. The Wicker Man. Haven't seen the movie myself but there's a youtube clip of that combines all the horribly bad acting from the entire movie into one 2minute clip. Oh and I love UHF! Saw the movie back in the early 90's and it instantly turned into one of my favourites. When I finally found it one DVD on play.com, I ought 4 copies. 2 for me and 2 for my best friends.
  3. While not youtube related, I discovered I could create my own gifs from avi files with Photoshop. Here's a preview:
  4. Meh, 2 words: damage control. Looking forward to next months NDP data now tough.
  5. That's true. But I was actually commenting on the control part of your post. It doesn't come close to keyboard+mouse as far as accuracy and speed goes, but it sure is much better that dual analogue. Once you adjust to the game that it.

I'm all for it. A bit torrent that anyone could find on something like Mininova would be ideal if it could be kept seeded, but an FTP would be great as well. I honestly don't know which uploader would have any problems with you putting the releases on your FTP. The more people can grab them the better I say.
  7. For what it's worth, I got the same message yesterday after downloading 4 or 5 magazines to upload them to Rapidshare. Gonna give it another go now. *edit* Now I'm downloading 18 magazines at once without any problems.
  8. Also bought 5 mint condition copies of the UK DreamCast magazine by Paragon Publishing since the last batch I bought had some in terrible condition. Only missing issue 11 now and we'll have the full set ready to be scanned.

Even if growth slows over the back half of 2008, the industry is poised to achieve record-breaking revenues of over $22B for the year." "Looking at historical data, hardware price reductions have been a good incentive for a broader consumer base to invest in a new-gen system, which encourages continued industry growth across all categories." Hardware "Platform-exclusive content usually fuels hardware system purchases, and PS3 sales certainly reflect the impact of Metal Gear Solid 4. PS3 unit sales were the highest of any month outside of that recorded during previous November/December holiday timeframes." "The Wii has taken the lead in total sales of current generation console hardware at 10.9 million units sold at retail life-to-date in the U.S." "The 360 platform has driven the greatest number of hardware purchases this generation, with just under 8 software units purchased for each unit of hardware, on average." Software "As expected, Metal Gear Solid 4 realized significant retail sales and drove PS3 hardware acquisition. While the attached media report does not include units bundled with hardware, if included MGS4 sold-through nearly 1 million units." "Wii Play continues to achieve an attach rate of over 50% to every new Wii hardware system sale. I can't think of another game that has ever had that kind of performance after 16 months at retail." "At the title level, Lego Indiana Jones captured the top sales spot for the month at 1.1 million units sold across all platforms. As Iron Man did last month, mass-friendly titles are a perfect fit for the still healthy PS2 platform, and the PS2 version of this game grabbed a spot in the top 10 list." Accessories "Accessory sales growth slowed slightly this month but still increased 25% over last June. Accessories for the Wii contributed one-third of total category sales, and the new games and accessories that Nintendo announced at E3 should engender future accessory sales."
  12. What would the world come to if people actually started playing games on the thing. Jeezz, talk about the higher-ups not understanding what gamers want...
  13. Just to expand on the point. Taken from somewhere else: "http://www.invensense.com/index.html "Press Release June 26, 2007 InvenSense’s Patented MEMS Fabrication Process Meets High Volume and Low-Cost Consumer Market Requirements New Fabrication Technology Brings Next Generation MEMS Gyroscopes and Inertial Sensors to Market with Greater than 10X Reduction in Cost" "INVENSENSE™ IDG-600 MOTION SENSING SOLUTION SHOWCASED IN NINTENDO'S NEW Wii MotionPlus ACCESSORY InvenSense has introduced an entirely new class of high performance silicon-based MEMS rate gyroscopes that offers smaller package sizes, lower power consumption, and lower price points suitable for consumer markets." The type of gyroscope that Nintendo needed for this didn't exist at launch. Not only didn't it exist but what did exist was 10X as expensive and used a lot of power, (anecdotes say that the motion plus prototype still only gets 9 hours from 2 AA's). So honestly would you rather they released $150 dollar controllers (and a $400 dollar console) that were bulky and consumed lots of power, or waited until the tech caught up to our (unrealistic) dreams. Oh and don't forget increased shortages of controllers and consoles due to the inability to produce in high enough volumes."
  14. Remember that a couple of years ago it just wasn't feasible to put 1:1 motion-sensing into a relatively cheap controller like the Wiimote. Just look at the PS3 controller. They tried to one-up Nintendo and yet also didn't have 1:1. As times change, technology gets refined and becomes affordable to be put into mass market products. Also the add-on comes packed in with Wii Sports 2, and who isn't gonna buy that. The only places I've read about it costing $30 is at message boards. As far as I know no official source has gone on the record about the price. Right now it's all just rumor mongering.
  15. Indeed. Oh and about that private conference:
  16. Almost forgot to mention. I just bought 11 missing issues of NeoGeo Freak from capow over at UG. The issues being: 97-08, 97-09, 97-10, 97-12,98-01, 98-02, 98-03, ,98-05, 98-06, 98-11, 98-12
  17. Absolutely fantastic game. You'll love it! Seeing as my 3 week vacation starts in 3 days, I have just ordered quite a bunch of stuff to keep me occupied. So there will be quite a few more posts from me in here and especially in the retro topic as well.
  18. Lol, that's the executive Vice President of sales and marketing of Nintendo USA. That being said, the conference wasn't anything special. They concentrated on 3rd parties as well as the broadening of the gaming public, so the best thing that were shown were Animal Crossing, Wii Sports Resort along with the new controller which finally gives the Wiimore full awareness of where it is in 3D space. Something which will no doubt result is some very interesting new games. And Wii Music, which looks like fun, but I'm not into music games. Funny how fanboys on all boards are going: screw you Nintendo, you have stabbed me in the back one to many times!!!! è!é(§è& I'm going to Sony/Microsoft!!!"çéè!é Like these are the only games coming out for the Nintendo systems... It's easy to see the presentation was put together for things like CNN and such to be able to pick up and do a segment about. We'll get our new games, perhaps even sooner then we think.
  19. I'd buy more Japanese Saturn games and Dreamcast ones. But from the list I would go for the Turbo Grafix 16, preferably the Japanese PC-Engine Duo-R as so many games only came out in Japan. The 32X isn't really worth the money, even if I'm a huge Sega whore. The Mega CD is, but it has a limited catalogue. The Virtual Boy is something I really like. Again, it doesn't have many games but there are a couple real classics in there. Pinball, Wario Land, Tennis,... Never really had a problem with the headache thing most people like to throw around because they never even owned the system but read it online somewhere and want to look cool by bringing it up over and over again. The GameBoys are always very nice, and I have several systems of every incarnation.

  21. Ah, that explains it. These came on Friday, but I was a bit embarrassed to post them as well seeing as how much came in that day. I'm so happy I finally got these:
  22. Oh yes please. These will certainly help me motivate myself to learn more Japanese.............. well, there's at least some text on the cover....
