UPDATED: AUGUST 14, 2013.
EDIT: Sorry, can this be moved to the auction section, I mistakenly placed this topic on the wrong thread.
I don't know if I'm allowed to create a thread of my eBay in this sort of way, but everything, minus the PSU, offers free shipping.

Last week I purchased a VHS cassette called Target: Get Into The Game. Apparently, this was a promo guide prepped by Target stores to showcase the then-upcoming PlayStation and Nintendo 64 games that year. In an era when simple, colorful games reigned supreme, it's nice seeing how games were... just games, period. 1998 was the greatest year for gaming ever.
Anyways, I'm in the process of ripping footage of certain games from this video tape. The tape contains promos of,,, and..
Probably the most interesting piece of footage in this VHS is the Ocarina of Time promo. Among many other elements, Link has different voice samples in this footage! I suspect in this point in time, his voice was done by one single voice actress.
A special mention should be made for Superman 64. It's a terrible game where "" It's only fitting that it's promo should be just as bad; I guess even the marketing department had a hard time advertising this mess of a product.
Does anyone have any request of games they want to see uploaded and ripped online? -
It's been one year since this started. Back to business.

Mega Man Legends. In the name that is all good in gaming this fan world needs a Mega Man Legends 3.
And Streets of Rage 4. And Jumping Flash! And And a real sequel to Super Mario RPG. Another Panzar Dragoon sequel would be nice too.

Where's The Simpsons Arcade game? I encountered an arcade cabinet for that game, and I remember pouring a few dollars into the game until I ran out and died in the forest stage.

I've made several posts concerning progress in my Famimaga Scanning Project topic, a reply to a Which Video Game Console Do You Own The Most Games For? thread, and I created a thread about a Japanese VHS tape I recently started dumping on YouTube. Are my posts currently being checked for approval? It's been days since I've posted these and they haven't shown up on the forums yet.
Hopefully, I'll even get to see this topic up and running in this forum.

I recently purchased a VHS tape from an eBay seller in Japan called CSG TV-Game Collection '96. CSG features lots of old Japanese Super Famicom, Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn, NeoGeo CD, PC-FX (and I think, 3DO) games from that era of gaming. The games featured come from many various Japanese game developers that you can probably think of, including Capcom, Sega, Konami, NEC, MediaWorks, Game Arts, Takara, Tomy, and much, much more. Biohazard was featured in the tape.
The VHS tape was just delivered to my residence this past Saturday, I'm now in the process of ripping the entire VHS cassette. If you are looking for me to confirm certain games from certain developer, I can report them here. Now, I can't personally list every single game on this video tape for catalog reference off the bat as there are about less than a hundred games, whose titles that aren't in katakana I can't read, so you'll have to rely on the developer list shown (did I just wrote a catch-22 paragraph just now...?). I have a photo of the front label of the tape on twitter.
I've already posted two videos of a couple Capcom games on my YouTube channel, Resident Evil (PS1) and the 32-Bit version of Mega Man X3 (PS1 / SS / 3DO).

I just thought this may be of interest to some people here. 1996 was a completely different time in video games.

The idea is that if I release what pages I have now piece-by-piece, I can draw along interest and create a following. It'll help motivate me to keep scanning and not have it pile it up on me, everyone wins.It would be great to get some more Famimagas and Famitsus on Retromags. Looking forward to your progress!
-
I'm on Page 73 right now in this scanning project, but now I'm thinking I should just start posting a few pages at a time to get people riled up for this issue.
Would it be OK if I posted only a few at a certain pattern of time?
-
Ah, I wish I knew what previews and stuff are in those magazines. Would you happen to have any of the discs that were bundled in certain issues of EDGE?
-
Would you happen to have any of the CDs that came with those issues, by any chance?I have a decent collection of NG. Really impressed with the wit of the writers, and it's a blast to read all their comments about the advancement of 3D. The issues I've got are mainly around the early 00's before it ended, with a bunch of single issues going back to '96. Eventually I'll start scanning them.
-
This may not be expensive for some, but for my documentary about MOTHER 3, I spent $30USD on this Famimaga Magazine circa December 1997 from a seller on eBay.uk.
Any money I spend for this project is already crossing my budget. =P
"The 3DO Update II" [VHS / 1993] Video Dump | Come visit my Blog too please!
in Retro Video Gaming!
Posted
Good evening RetroMags, its that time again where I release VHS video rips on YouTube! This time I bought from eBay a marketing VHS made for licensees to cover the Summer 1993 CES press coverage, the Trip Hawkins presentation, and a 3DO promotional video, to persuade them of the potential the 3DO console (might have) had at the time. I've had this for months now and it was only a week ago or so that I finally decided to upload all the footage online and share it to the internet. Along with a complimentary hand-signed letter, the VHS tape features four segments that can be found separately as videos in the link to my blog post below, where I briefly go over the background of the letter, the VHS contents and the reasons why Trip Hawkins thought the 3DO is going to be the biggest 1990s product in stores since the VCR. If you're interested, please give it a look.

I also like to take this opportunity to advertise my gaming blog I call The Game Informant, a gaming blog where I post about gaming niches, trivia, fun memes, and other bits of interest, among other off-topic subjects. I have more blog posts were that came from (recently I've posted about Japanese magazines that I've been scanning lately) and I hope more people come to visit my blog and follow.
