  1. Wonderboy 3 is pretty good, and quite obscure. It's an automatic scroller/shooter/platformer that works well on multiple level. A weird but fun game is Jeff and Ken (I think) which is a straight forward platformer except your enemies are dogs, bees, and dog doodoo and you can use your bodily gas (press down) as an attack.
  2. I go back to SMB3 on SM Allstar whereby I saves can be made for the items, and you can start at any level. So I have a file that has 7 frog suits, 7 toonki suits and 14 hammer brother suits. It's a blast using the hammer brother suit in level 1 and 2 and the toonki suit in the water level (I use the statue stomp to kill the enemies). I go over shinobi 3 on Genesis and try to use the dash attacks as much as I can. The cool thing is that if you time it right, you'll be temporary invincible during the dash attack.
  3. Amen - I agree that growing up in the 80-90's were a terrific time for gaming. I think there is something special as a kid and going over to your friends house and burn a couple of hours playing co-op on some game. With the current online play, you don't and cannot have those types of social opportunities. I still try to keep up the tradition from time to time with my buddies, and we'd go for a Halo run on co-op. Except we have beer now instead of Dr. Pepper like years past.
  4. I know RCR is royalty and all, but seriously, FF3 is completely underrated and the best entry in the series. Guy is absolute killer and you can chain the rush (double forward), attack, and finish off with a fireball that takes off half of the enemy's life. Haggar is pretty awesome in the game too. There are multiple passages if you break the wall at the beginning of the background to ensure some re-playability. Check it out if you get a chance. Streets of rage 2 is fantastic, and it's balanced than the other entries. TMNT4 for SNES is one of my alltime favorites. Using Raphael (because of his speed), you can try to throw every foot solider onto the screen to get the maximum of 3 points per kill to increase your score.
  5. GBC, N64, PS1, Xbox (modded) - my SNES, NES, and GB broke down years ago - RIP
  6. Hey Guys, I have been gaming since the mid 80's, and I am really happy to find this forum. I love NP as a kid, when I finally joined the membership in August, 1990 (my first issue was Manic Mansion), and made sure to ask for all of the back issues for Christmas that year. Anyway, when my wife and I moved into our new place last year, I wanted a little something for the bathroom downstairs - none more appropriate than NP issue #1 Look forward to chatting about old-school gaming with some like-minded folks. Be well. James
