  1. Wait, it's out on iOS? How is it different? Is it still worth getting at all, just for kicks?
  2. Just adding my thanks or the link! I'm always on the lookout for fun lists like this. I like how they don't always rank the games the way you'd expect. Keeps it interesting the whole way through.
  3. Obviously, the standard "news" "previews" "reviews" thing isn't ideal for a quarterly publication, but I could see myself picking it up if they had big, well-researched features written over the three month gap between issues. Maybe they'll switch to longform journalism, retrospectives, interviews, that sort of thing.
  4. I recommend Dungeons and Desktops: The History of Computer Role-Playing Games. The author has a series on YouTube, where he tracks down the people who actually made roleplaying games from the early days. If you ever wondered about the sort of multiplayer mainframe games that predated Ultima Online and Everquest by 20 years, this is the book for you. Each game gets anywhere from half a page to several, and you always get a good feel for how the game played. http://www.amazon.com/Dungeons-Desktops-History-Computer-Role-Playing/dp/1568814119 Just don't buy the Kindle version! It's ridiculously expensive (almost $40!) even compared to the hardcover book.
  5. Listening to episode 9 now. You have a good radio voice! I like to listen to podcasts while playing games that don't have much storyline, and this will definitely make some good background listening for me.
  6. Going by the various Outer Limit and Twilight Zone reboots, this won't be as good as the original. But it's not like we have a lot of anthology horror shows to choose from these days. ("American Horror Story" isn't really the same, it's more like a True Detective style mini-series.) By the way, anyone check out M. Night's latest horror movie, The Visit? Spoiler alert: It's actually good. I know, I was just as surprised to hear it as you probably are. It's well crafted, fun and scary, and basically nothing like the stuff he's been doing lately. If I had to compare it to anything, it'd be Signs, oddly enough.
  7. I once sent in a piece of really awful envelope art to a magazine. Lucky for me, they didn't print it.
  8. Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday and Shadowrun are two of the best RPGs on Genesis, and both are license games. Well, Buck Rogers was a show, Shadowrun is a pen and paper roleplaying game. But still.
  9. WWF Wrestlefest was a heck of a lot of fun. It made my day every time I saw it in an arcade. Wasn't it supposed to be released on XBLA and PSN a while back? I remember seeing previews, but the release seems to be vaporware.
