Happy Festivus from me to all of you also!
-
I see, thank you.
Is it possible for magazines in this status to be taken out of it at a future date?
theoretically possible, but i'd say it's pretty unlikely for GameFan to email and say "go ahead and put up our magazines for free download"

i don't really have anything too rare or whatever, but i value them regardless:
a Virtual Boy with about 8-9 games. all the common ones. still waiting to find a cheap copy of Jack Bros. (U.S. version) someday.
i have 150+ games for my (top-loader) NES. had to build a shelf to hold them all. most expensive games are probably Final Fantasy 1, Bubble Bobble 2, Adventure Island 3 (is that still rare? it was for a while). But also have all 6 Mega Mans and just an excellent collection all around. tons of great games. i think one of my next purchases will be a working ROB with Gyromite. gotta keep an eye open for a good deal on one.

backwards compatibility IS a big deal to me. i like the idea of buying a new system and ditching the old one, but not losing any playability.
one of the biggest selling points of the Wii-U WAS the BC. not just with the games, but with the controllers and accessories too.
one of the reasons i never bought a PS3 is because when the price finally dropped into my range, the BC was gone, and the older systems that still had it had gone up in cost.
i've got 5 systems (Atari 2600, NES, N64, PS2, Wii-U) hooked up to my two TVs right now. if i add any more systems i have to unhook something else, and i just don't want to do that, so i've hit my max.

I ask because I have found a tribute website for the German edition of the British Nintendo magazine TOTAL! from Future Publishing. The link is here: http://www.totalmagazin.de.vu/
And I can't read German, though I am aware that the German TOTAL! apparently ran up to 2000. Something to add to the database, Phillyman?
EDIT: This website also has links to a German Nintendo Power as well as this website: http://www.kultboy.com/which could be very useful if you read German as it seems to also be archiving info or maybe scans - again, I can't read German - so that's there if you can read it.
there's a good start for ya anyway.

this is an awesome name for a mag and it prompted me to download and read it.
i was saddened to learn that it was put out by imagic (should've looked at the cover closer) and it wasn't that great of a magazine.
thanks for preserving it tho!

i've mourned the loss of instruction manuals for a few years now.
as a kid, when i got a new game, i would pour over the details of the booklet, taking in the artwork, immersing myself in the lore of the game's world. Plus, you could do that in the back seat on the way home from the store. By the time you got home, the excitement was overwhelming and you couldn't wait to meet character "X" or try out some of the moves you just read about.
my first step is still to open the case and check for a manual. i would always get excited about the first party Wii ones because the book looks thick. But then you realize they print it in three languages and really don't give you too much for involved information. sigh....

that is shady as hell. i'd keep calling until they made it up to me.

i saw this a week or two ago. love the box and the tokens, but the board itself just didn't catch my heart like i thought it would

Nintendo Power #25- missing page 18.
-
that is a fantastic collection and i'm more than a little jealous. but $950 is WAY more than i'd be willing to part with for them.
-
this is my most anticipated game of the year.
-
ugh is all i can say.
people were already confused about the DS/DSi/DSLite/3DS/3DSXL/2DS deal. why are they making more variations? if it's a significant improvement, it's time to start over with the naming scheme. if it's not a significant improvement, hold off until it is.

firstly, this site IS all about the preservation of the magazines and making sure they're available.
as far as "ownership" of scans or whatever, and someone can correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe that anything that you scan you are free and clear to upload wherever you want and do with as you please. if you wanted to post it here and at archive.org, there'd be no problem with that. some people prefer to only have scans (or whatever) on sites that they support and request that it stays certain places (which is why you may find a scan online for a magazine but it's not available here). But if it's a scan that you yourself are scanning/uploading, you can do whatever you want with it.

i couldn't find it anywhere on the net, so i ended up buying a copy and scanning it myself. hope this helps out anyone else that is looking to complete their collection!

a ton of congratulations! i've been part of the married club since 8/3/12 myself, and i must say it is wonderful!
wishing you many many, years of happiness! -
well this latest update for the Wii-U gets you a quick start menu if nothing else.
-
couldn't find a good place to post this. doesn't really warrant a new thread but wanted to share anyway.
picked up the first issue of Nintendo Power off ebay the other day, and it got here today. i've looked at the scans a dozen times, but holding the actual issue in my hands gave me the infamous nostalgia blast. sat right down and read thru the whole thing for the 10000th time. that of course prompted me to play the NES (my favorite system). it was like being 8 years old all over again. but this time with beer.

very cool! thanks for sharing and helping to improve the site!

and now, six months later, i see that Supplement 012 would be a 36 page "Classified Information" insert. any help?
and is there a list somewhere of the inserts available? it seems like every time i turn around there's something that i can't find. grrrrr....

I think the only good cartoons that they remade are Thundercats and the latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
the 2002 remake of He-Man was as good if not better than the 80s series.

i got mainly decorations for my bar. it's a personal bar in my basement, not an actual establishment. but got a number of limited edition Miller High Life mirrors, along with a custom sign made by a publisher friend. very cool stuff!
well at least now you won't shoot your eye out.
