Moved onto Playstation from Nintendo and never personally owned any type of Sega system, although I did play on them frequently when visiting friends and relatives. Spend far more time retro gaming then playing on my PS3 these days. Franchises (both systems): Super Mario Brothers, Castlevania, Contra, Double Dragon, TMNT, Final Fantasy, Dragon Warrior, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Final Fight, Mortal Kombat, Tecmo Bowl, Madden 94 and on for SNES, NHL 94 and on for SNES. NES: River City Ransom, Crystalis, Baseball Stars, Nintendo World Cup, Super Spike Volleyball, Blades of Steel, Double Dribble, Play Action Football. SNES: F-Zero, Sim City, R-Type III, U.N. Squadron, Street Fighter II, NCAA Basketball, Jungle Strike, Urban Strike, Batman Returns.

  1. Yes, but not religiously. I was strictly NES and SNES. Reading about Genesis, TurboGraffix, and NEO GEO was interesting, but I didn't have any of those systems so the sections about them were fun to read, but nothing that could help me with my gaming. I usually just glossed over the sections for the handhelds because I never got into handhelds at all. Got a Gameboy for christmas one year (that I never asked for) and traded it in shortly after for some NES games. GamePro was something different and it was cool to read reviews of NES and SNES that came from a fresh perspective. It was a fun read, but Nintendo Power was where it was at for me.
  2. EGM and GamePro were cool and I would occasionally buy issues of both from the magazine racks, but this was by far my favorite gaming magazine. I had a subscription starting with issue eight. I always wanted to back order the original seven issues, but I never got around to it. I never owned any Sega systems and stuck with the NES and SNES before upgrading to a Playstation. Coming home from school and seeing the new issue sitting on my bed after the mailman delivered it was always really exciting. I loved this magazine and would pour over every issue several times. I stopped subscribing after I mothballed my NES and SNES and really started getting into Playstation. My parents moved the magazines down from my bedroom to the basement after I moved out. Then the basement flooded and the magazines were ruined. Finding them again on this site was really cool. I use them all the time while playing roms.
