  1. The original post was dated in February, so the 9 1/2 month thing was pertaining to the end of the year (2006), in which case another year would have passed and another year (2001) could be made publicly available.
  2. Congrats on getting it to 100%. Much thanks to everyone who helped compile the files. Let's keep it well-seeded.
  3. Doesn't it boost the console sales as well?
  4. MBJ: If you are really interested in this, there are a bunch of people on Amazon that have it up for sale in "Like New" condition for only a couple bucks. Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000008IZ...v=glance&n=5174
  5. I agree, it's kind of hard for when you have a whole bunch of matches though. Good luck with the file though, I bet it'll be huge even for a plain ol' txt.
  6. We're down to the last 24 hours if seeded a full speed. So it should be fully seeded at least once in the next two days I'd say.
  7. Good call. Thanks for bringing that up--I've been scouring for them for a long time now.
  8. Heh, that was actually pretty interesting. They did a good job with that.
  9. I think Phillyman's looking to get his hands on whatever he can and whatever is made public may only be limited to the five-years-and-older.
  10. This is interesting. Hopefully soon they'll have some emulators running on it at least. It's all I've been hoping for.
  11. well certainly they did something right because people are buying the systems and they are buying the games. it could be for a lack of competition, but that's only going to be answered when the other two are released.
  12. what are you making the list in, fusoya? is it going to be a database type of thing or just a big huge text file? i can lend a hand if you need any help with that.
  13. I use VNC as well. The only thing I hate is when the server reboots for some reason and VNC doesn't load up on startup then I have to go hook up a keyboard and monitor to the server, get VNC running again and then put everything away. I'm saving up for a nice battery backup now, hopefully I won't have that problem anymore.
  14. Is the pro logic just a simulated 5.1? Is that the major difference?
  15. Not too much longer before this bad boy is fully seeded. I can see it being done in the next two days or so. I'm still lagging behind a bit, but I got 23.7 gigs uploaded so far with a ration 3.124.
  16. If anyone here is on XBox Live, post your Gamertags. That way we can get together and play some online games or something. Mine is MrSlayerJenkins, so give me a shout.
  17. Yeah, that's a good point to put out there. You don't even have to rename the file, either, you can just right-click and open with... WinRar if you have it installed. This is a good way of getting the pictures out of a page if you want to put 'em on your signature or whatever, y'know.
  18. No one has had the opportunity to download the entire file as of yet. The highest percentage is about 56%, I believe. Phillyman is the only one with 100% and he's been limiting the upload during the day and letting it go at night. It's still going to be a few more days before anyone's got it completed.
  19. Thanks for the info, Billco. I'm going to be running Cat6 at my house and will be using it like you, primarily for streaming video/audio throughout the house (on the tv and other computers in the house). It will only have around 2-5 users on at any one given time, so maybe a PC would be good. I had a decent rackmountable case that was designed for a regular PC. It had the capability to hold about 8 hard drives at one time, but the thing would heat up like crazy because there's no room for any fans at that point. I'm not much of a hardware guy, so I don't know all the ins and outs of it, but I'm going to keep the company names you are giving in mind so my friend and I can build something that's safe and cheap. I do plan on running Windows 2003 Server, only because I know nothing about Linux and don't really have the urge to learn. At heart, I am a Mac guy and will have a couple of Macs in the run. Anyways, enough babbling, thanks again and I'll return with some info on what I plan on doing, maybe you can help me make some of the right decisions.
  20. Yeahl, BYOAC is a insane resource for information on building your own cabinet. I just wish I had the cash to pull it off, I would love it. But at the same token, I'm not the type of person to cut corners to save a few bucks, I'd want it done the right way whatever the cost may be.
  21. A friend of mine over at RETROBLAST! (www.retroblast.com) informed me that they took on another partner in Coin-Op TV. Kevin's website is now a powerhouse of information for anyone who's interested in retrogaming as far as Mame is concerned. It has a lot to do with reviewing hardware and software for building your own arcade machine and for components like the Act-Labs light gun and so on. So if you get a chance, head over to his website at RetroBLAST.com and check out some of the very informative and well-balanced reviews and video reviews.
  22. A.K.A. Doki-Doki Panic hahahah.
  23. Not quite as much as you, but still a good ratio. I'm at 52% and have uploaded 16.51Gb with a ratio of 3.131. That means that I've surpassed the 1.000 ratio mark for the entire file.
  24. I've always thought they'd do a film on Zelda, but I remember hearing in a press conference or something Nintendo executives saying that they didn't want to build a flop. I've never played the Animal Crossing game, but have heard it was a pretty big success, so the film may not fail. Regardless, I don't think I'd be interested in seeing it.
