  1. WOW has limited availability around here. Some areas you can get it, some areas you can't. It's kind of like a hit-or-miss type of deal, but Comcast is damn near everywhere.
  2. HAHAHA. Thanks for the input. Interesting to know that. There are so many different "standards" now it's overwhelming.
  3. Hey, I'm getting a house built and have a lot of MP3s and videos (live bootlegs of my favorite bands, media center recordings, etc) and and going to be building a server. Now, for what I want to do, I just want to have the right to say that I have a terabyte of disk space available for my network and, well, I'll be doing something with a RAID-5 configuration and about 4 or 5 hard drives. What I need help with is finding something that can house these hard drives. Do you think it would be best to have a regular computer tower with the drives in there? I think it might have a heating problem, but maybe not. Or would it be best to go with a rackmountable setup that's designed to house just hard drives and have a SCSI controller connecting it to the server PC?
  4. I had WOW at my apartment and did the same thing. I liked them, but Comcast isn't available where my house is being built, so I have no choice but to go with them.
  5. What's the difference between the laserdisc and the originals? I'm not familiar with non-anamorphic and all that, but am still curious to know why someone would get so upset over something like that.
  6. I dunno why or when these forums were made available to me, but I just wanted to say thanks for everything you guys are doing. It's bringing back a lot of memories and a lot of fun. So thanks.
  7. What are these NDS flash carts that you cats is talking about? Is it like those programmable cartridges for the gameboy that people used to use to make homebrew games and whatnot?
  8. MBJ: that's an interesting fact, that I never knew. Thanks for pointing that out. Draconis: Yes Comcast does suck.
  9. Yeah either way it'll be expensive. But it is hard to say if it is a good business plan to go with the blu-ray dvd until the other two systems finally come out.
  10. The only real noticable benefit would be that when outside of the Media Center program, you'd see a much higher resolution than on a TV screen, no matter what TV screen you'd get. Regular TV resolution is at around 720x680 or something and on a HD TV with 1080i it'll have a resolution at about 1080x720 I think. Where as monitors will boast at minimum 1280x1024, some even going up to 1600 or higher. Only thing is, this is only noticed outside of the TV because the signal coming into your screen will always output at the same resolution, so when you load up media center it will lower the resolution down to the TV standard.
  11. They should and I'm pretty sure they will. I was looking at the Mortal Kombat site and they were showing how they are going to be releasing and arcade version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for XBox Live and they have an updated menu that shows "Play Arcade" and "Play XBox Live", so I'm assuming that means playing against an online opponent through Live.
  12. It's going to happen regardless. In fact, I bet someone already figured it out. It's more a matter of if the user wants to spend the time and energy to commit the crime.
  13. Well, while I was getting that information about your tv, I remembered the same site had a lot of useful information and links about media centers and some were the style you ar elooking for. Here's the link. http://www.tv.com/story/story.html&story_id=3800
  14. Mario 3 was hands down one of the biggest and most exciting launches I remember. That was back when I entered in the 1989 World Championships. I also think Super Mario World might take a strong second, and if I could vote twice, I'd vote for that one as well. Huge game, and a lot of secrets, plus the updated graphics.
  15. Yeah, well here is a great resource for learning about the different technologies and what's the best quality and most cost-efficient. http://www.tv.com/story/story.html&story_id=3701 I'd also suggest maybe checking out some of the computer monitor/tvs they have at like Office Depot or Office Max. I work at a Office Depot and our store recently received a pretty big line of quality monitors at a decent price (widescreen, HD, etc). But a standalone tv would probably be best.
  16. Yeah those HP mini towers are really cool. I'm planning on doing the same thing, but as of now all I have is a huge Gateway tower. The HP mini towers I think had a relatively small amount of RAM. You can also look into a mac-mini for a PVR. I saw a few people had a couple great looking ones, but it requires some modification, I believe. And finally, I think Dell makes either cases for full setups that are designed to sit atop your DVD player or receiver or what have you. I'll try and look up some models for you and get some links when I have more free time.
  17. Rockstar announced that Vice City Stories is being released for the PSP on October 17 of this year. Here's the press release http://ir.take2games.com/ReleaseDetail.cfm?ReleaseID=195825
  18. I've uploaded 7.21Gb and have a ratio of 2.554 at the moment.
  19. Thanks for the flash vids philly.
  20. Yeah that's amazing. Looks really sick.
  21. Yeah, I agree. I just don't like the way the DS has that touch screen. I never thought of it as a really great design structure, but people are eating it up. The new Mario game is a selling point for me though. It looks great.
  22. Can't remember if these were posted or not, but I do recall us talking about those old promo videos that Nintendo Power use to put out. Here's a link to the Invasion Of Nintendo one, which was like Killer Instinct and Donkey Kong Country. Found 'em on youtube. I wish I could embed the videos, but this site doesn't allow HTML tags to be put, so just click the link and have fun.Click Here!
  23. That's kind of strange, as the Gameboy line was one of the biggest selling features for Nintendo. You would think it would at the very least be included in the Wii virtual console. I have a question as well. The Wii virtual console deal, does each game like cost a fee or something? Or, is everything available for download or what's going on there? Any ideas?
  24. I was lucky enough to see them about 5 times including their final tour.
