  1. I used to want a pinball machine. Also, my uncle has a Pachinko Machine from Japan
  2. This is great. Reminds me of how a few of the original composers eventually got involved with OCRemix, helping to "legitimize" the site.
  3. It could inspire both competition and cooperation. Compete with your neighbors for bragging rights to the biggest, most well run city, dumping waste on them if you're malicious. Or, cooperate with more experienced players to have them help with the resources and playing skills you lack.
  4. A new, real SimCity (not dumbed down for the masses)? Sweet! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T70evBJE93s
  5. After a few years of buying used games, my PS2 collection is now my largest, followed by the DS. I've got quite a number of PC games as well. However, when it comes to owning a large percentage of a console's library, I'm looking at about 80% of the Vectrex library now (including the 3D viewer and its games). I've yet to snag a Light Pen and its games and a few other odds and ends.
  6. It can be hard to find stuff locally though. Also, more and more shops know enough to check eBay nowadays before pricing something. That's the way it is around here anyway.
  7. Well, I just made my previous find pointless. I also have to figure out where to come up with half of the money for this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/160748554835 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA (what have I done?)
  8. Backlog you say? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Amhult1NpinxdC1hQ1k1UnkyTGlPbFFYaDJGMFRSUlE Anyway, this will be the last new game I purchase for a while, being pretty much the last new game for the DS (not that I've bought that many new games in the last decade anyway): http://www.atlus.com/devilsurvivor2/
  9. Chuck Norris has officially jumped the shark due to corporate usage:
  10. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v373/DeeMer/Startropics/Chapter4/25-LetterRevealed.jpg from here: http://www.gamespite.net/talkingtime/showthread.php?t=6801&page=3
  11. I guess a remake of the first game might be viable, despite already having one remake, to remind people of the series' roots. But there's no need for them to get bogged down with redoing the whole series. Leave it to GoG to let people catch up on the rest of the true series (1-7). No one knows what could happen tomorrow, so they need to have Al Lowe work on a new game's story while they have the chance.
  12. My Vectrex is king. Too bad the whole home console market crashed soon after it came out, or we would be 10+ years further along in 3D vector graphics in games. Even modern "3D" is still raster/pixel based instead of truly vector based.
  13. I found that true with all Fighting games.
  14. Can we add this to the Arcade? Super Mario Bros. Crossover 2.0 http://www.explodingrabbit.com/news/super-mario-bros-crossover-2-0-released
  15. Just got my copy of Ys Books I&II for the DS with the soundtrack CD. The music is even better than ever. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120849061776 I also imported Ys Strategy from the UK just to satisfy my completionist tendencies, even though I'm not a fan of RTS (give me good old turn-based). DS is not really "current generation" now but wouldn't be considered retro yet either, so I put this here.
  16. w00t I'm excited because I just got a couple good Vextrex related deals on eBay. Berzerk w/ box, manual, overlay can sometimes go for over $100. Got it for less than $50. http://www.ebay.com/itm/170752019739 Second controller (pretty rare due to system's short commercial life) sometimes costs over $200. Got one for just over $100 due to stumbling across a last minute snipe opportunity. http://www.ebay.com/itm/260935204191
  17. Ugh, I knew there was some reason I recognized the site name. Sorry to see it gone, but thankfully it looks like our users have copies of most (all?) of the content we lost. I also remember the days when a certain Torrent site was how we hosted files. The downside is that it required registration invites to get in and thus limited or sharing with the general public. However, that site having a relatively smaller community (about 30k members) means that it's low key enough to slip under the radar and well policed against malicious content. If I had enough storage space and bandwidth, I would personally seed all our content there as well as any other solution we have. (not mentioning the other site's name in case watchdog bots are trolling for references to Megaupload in order to find other "bad" sites)
  18. Just found locally and got a new-to-me old console from 1982, the Vectrex (in the original box). http://www.vectrexmuseum.com/ I also got a number of games thanks to the store's Buy 3 get 1 Free sale, including a handful in the original boxes. Most of them were around $20, but Pole Position (in a like-new box) set me back about $80.
  19. FYI, Torrents of 420's old NP scans are still up at underground-gamer.com
  20. Well, you went quite wild with the ad database again, heh.
  21. Didn't this game become more well known for other games reusing the engine than for this game itself?
  22. Yet another game I've meant to try for years. Giant mechs!
  23. Some of those screenshots look like doctored from early builds. Is that supposed to be (the NPC) Elsa in the underwater one? Then, Elsa doesn't use a bow at the Hydra or anywhere else and there's no spear guy there either. Must be from when they were trying to design it as a multiplayer game.
  24. This may be the antithesis of the series that originally gave more puzzle points for non-violent solutions. Also, I think the Action/RPG game play would fit better as a Quest for Glory game. But I still had fun playing it.
