  1. The Eliminator was replaced with Q-tips and rubbing alcohol at least for the games, for the system i just got a few sheets of card stock, folded one, applied rubbing alcohol and there you go, diy eliminator lol. also found a fix for the "left to right game shifting" when the system stopped working...kind of a pain but i just took apart the NES and bent the pins back to where they had a tighter grip on the cartridge leads. i know this is blasphemy for some (disemboweling the NES) but hey, it worked
  2. ok, thanks. i just wanted to confirm before trying to submit anything. i figured it wouldn't be without at least giving credit to where i got them from but wanted to double check.
  3. question...if i am able to find digital copies of "missing" issues via other websites and/or people, even if i did not scan them myself, would they be acceptable to upload? i will preview and crop/cleanup as needed of course. (i'm kinda picky on how my scans turn out too )
  4. i'm downloading so my son has access to the same stuff i read as a kid. he's already playing through (and beating) a lot of the NES and GB games that gave me a hard time when i was his age but he's always asking for guides so here i am
  5. I am currently trying to track down the "missing" Nintendo Power mags as well. Once I can acquire a few I will scan them and hopefully submit them. It sucks that NP is no longer around but we have to keep what was printed alive any way we can. i'm going to be checking every "retro game store" i can find in my area to locate anything that will help. I also have some feelers out to some friends in Hawaii that might have some decent luck in finding them too. when i was there a few years back i remember quite a few retro stores having a lot of mags, just not sure if they would have what we need.
  6. I'm with MichaelLyles, I prefer non-cloud storage. yes, it costs more money (in the short term) but it also helps you keep organized depending on how you set things up. I currently have seperate drives for different subjects (i.e. games, books, movies, tv shows, etc) I backup every dvd/bluray movie or show I buy to portable drives as well as games, ebooks, and everything else. Along with that I use my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 with ComicRack and a 64GB micro sd card for all magazines, comic books as well as a short movie list on the go. btw, playing (backups of personally owned) NES and other classic games with a PS3 controller on my tablet is AMAZING! keep the classics alive!! = tablet
  7. I'm new to Retromags (as you can tell from the Newbie tag that will probably appear on this post lol) but I have always been a big Nintendo fan and I have successfully brought my son into the fold with Nintendo gaming, especially the classics. I wanted to show him the NP Magazines from back in the day and Retromags has been THE BEST source for this. I will hopefully track down some of the missing mags from the list and submit them (when possible) to help keep things alive.
