  1. I remember reading about that in the mags back in the day. Fans were NOT happy with it.
  2. Looks like it's missing some pages (27 & 28), from the Previews section.
  3. Me too. I can scrap the low quality, small PDF's I have for some of these.
  4. This issue stated that 4 video game franchises were having films made. Uncharted, Lost Planet, Mass Effect, & Everquest. Uncharted didn't hit theatres till February 2022 (delayed partially because of the Covid-19 pandemic) Lost Planet never got far into development. The writer submitted a script to the studio in 2014 but never went farther. Mass Effect released in 2012 as an animated feature under the title Mass Effect: Paragon Lost. I couldn't find anything about an EverQuest in my limited research.
  5. I don't know if the Wii is considered Retro nowadays, but my son & I have been playing Fortune Street for the Wii. It has some pretty hilarious dialogue from the Dragon Quest characters if you're familiar with the stories (i.e. The Princess from Dragon Quest/Dragon Warrior 2) and for some reason the Platypunk character seems to be an Italian mobster!
  6. Interesting to see that as far back as 2010, companies were trying to push "cloud gaming" with the OnLive service. 13 years later, and it's still not a viable option as we saw Stadia fail.
  7. Content Note: In the Previews section, it says "Dante's Inferno" is planned for PS3, Xbox 360, & Wii. However according to IGN, no Wii version was ever planned. See link: https://www.ign.com/articles/2010/02/03/ea-on-wii-dantes-inferno
  8. Nice! Haven't seen an Expert Gamer posted in a while.
  9. While indexing magazines, I usually look up any previews that I'm not too familiar with to see if the game actually released. Under the Almost Famous section it lists games set to release in 2009 that were kind of lesser known. About half the list didn't release till 2010.
  10. Electronic Entertainment was always the first thing I think about when I hear Playboy. Sarcasm heavily implied.
  11. Well that's what I thought! I've got tons of them downloaded, but wasn't sure if I had all of them that were available here.
  12. Looking forward to all the EGM's! Especially the older ones.
  13. Another April issue means another April Fool's joke. This one should seem rather obvious as there's no way this would fly on a major system at this time. There was a preview of a game called "Valkyrie Wilde: Full Frontal Assault", in which the main character was a fully nude female. Needless to say, the game does not exist. Although apparently PSM had an artist draw Valkyrie Wilde in one of it's swimsuit issues a few years later.
  14. This sounds really neat. Looking forward to hearing more.
  15. I wasn't a huge Mortal Kombat fan, but my local arcade was lucky enough to have an early version (I think it was revision 1.0) of Mortal Kombat II. The new characters were cool, new fatalities (although many were missing with this revision) and Kintaro & Shao Khan were BRUTALLY difficult.
  16. I've picked up the Bradygames strategy guide for Grand Theft Auto IV. I'll be mailing it to to E-Day later this week for scanning.
  17. The April Fools tradition continues in EGM. This time it's a game for the Wii called Mushroom Kingdom Hearts that has Mario joining the Kingdom Hearts franchise.
  18. And I just checked on Amazon US and they aren't shipping it to Canada (at least not to my location).
  19. I've been hoping that Amazon Canada picks this up, but I've been checking every few days and nothing as of the last time I checked earlier today.
  20. That's one of my favorite things looking through these old mags. The previews will have games that never came out, games that came out YEARS later (Duke Nukem Forever), and games that would release under a COMPLETELY different title (which Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy/ESPionage is a great example).
  21. I played M&M 4&5 (and combined them for World of Xeen) back in the day. They were great.
  22. I started playing my NES Classic for the first time in months. And am in the middle of Might & Magic 1.
  23. Just a note on the "Blood: The Last Vampire" game in Previews. There were 2 games in that series that come out in December 2000. Called "Blood: The Last Vampire - Gekan" & "Blood: The Last Vampire - Joukan" respectively.
