  1. Much appreciated. I found a website that will convert cbr to PDF instantly, and I use that. I have a lifetime subscription to Adobe so its working in the interim until Adobe goes belly up. LOL
  2. @E-Day - Seem to have trouble opening this one. What format is this supposed to be in? It's only showing as a Unix Executable File. Please advise - thanks!
  3. Correct. My edition I have is red, and she says "Do you wanna arm wrestle?". I can't throw mine out unless IM sure its scanned. If we need all editions/all colors preserved, I'm happy to hang onto mine til I scan it.
  4. After spine is removed, what dpi setting do you recommend? I want quality with file size as low as possible. Additionally, I find myself struggling with cbr format and prefer pdf. Any advice on how to convert that to pdf? I’m looking at PC Gamer mags for example.
  5. I just realized that the technical education department at where I work has a Guillotine cutter for business cards in the Graphic Arts classroom. I might be able to sweet talk the teacher into letting me use it. Teachers report back this week.......I'm now a man on a mission.
  6. Hey Pholks! My wife wanted me to clear out the garage and I feel that I need to part with my beloved retro mags that are just boxed up. Theyre not mint or anything so they're not valuable (albeit sentimental for nostalgia). Ive got PC Gamers from 1994 (Early/July 1994), Nintendo Power (I was one of the first subscribers), and Electronic Gaming Monthly circa July 1994. Would appreciate some scanning tips that use an ADF - Do you cut the spine off and then scan? If so - what's the best way to go about doing that? I don't have time for the page by page schtick as I have two kids who keep me busy. LOL As a hobby I work on developing / coding a private server running World of Warcraft (WotLK and Cataclysm) using TrinityCore. Yeah, that direction of geekdom. :) Nice to be here, look forward to interacting. JH
  7. What about cutting the binding/spine off with a table saw and then using the ADF? Has anyone done that?
