  1. Hey guys, I know it's unlikely given how long it's been since it was created, but does anyone have the big torrent release from awhile back and is willing to seed it? After losing all the magazines I'd got from here in a hard drive malfunction, I've been looking to get them back, and that torrent would be the best way to go about it.
  2. I went ahead and posted a review under the name Jukt.
  3. I've played and finished most of the FF games, my favorites are 8 and 12 - 8 had the most interesting setting, and 12's battle system is really fun to mess around with. I'm playing through 1 on my PSP right now, and like the OP said the graphics are incredible if you're into 2D art. I'm also psyched for the remake of FF4 on DS, that's going to be awesome.
  4. I got a new laptop and PSP, since both of mine had broken about halfway through the previous year. Going without was pretty horrible, so Christmas was a good time for me.
  5. It's always hilarious to hear about governments getting involved with video games like this. All the other things they could be worried about, like the economy or foreign policy...and they're busy putting bans on toys because some people play with them too much. They do it to an extent here in the US, too, though it's not quite as extreme; Clinton lost my vote for the Presidency because she keeps railing on violent video games instead of issues that matter. It's crazy.
  6. It's pretty easy to get the keys off a normal keyboard to clean them off and get all the crap out from under them, but taking them off a laptop board is absolute hell and not recommended - they sit on a sort of plastic framework that breaks really easily, and once it's broken it's pretty much gone for good. Then again laptops don't get dirty as easily as normal boards since the keys are spaced closely together, so it's not as big a deal to clean them.
  7. I'm sure we've all had old computers that felt like one of these at some point. My last laptop had 512MB of RAM and it was ridiculous trying to run XP on it sometimes, this is just crazy.
  8. This seemed like the right place to ask this, sorry if it's not. Way back when, in the late 90s to early 2000s or so, I came across an issue of Gamepro that had some kind of roleplaying system packed in with it. I don't remember all the details at all, except something about panthers and people (monsters?) who could spit cement. I think it was about people turning into monsters and going to some other world full of other people who'd done the same. Weird, I know. I'm not too into the whole roleplaying thing, but the fact that I can only remember those little bits of information and have never found the system again has driven me nuts for quite a while. Does anyone know if this was in fact Gamepro, which issue it came with, and, by some miraculous stroke of luck, would be willing to scan it or at least link to more info? Thanks!
  9. Hi everyone! I'm 21 years old and a journalism student at the University of Maryland. I do a ton of gaming along some writing for a couple music websites in my spare time. I grew up as a gamer, with Nintendo Power and Gamepro and such, and I can still spend way too much time reading those magazines today. I was amazed to find a site like this - for the longest time I didn't think anyone else cared about these old rags, but it's great to see I was wrong. As far as games go, I've got an Xbox 360 and Wii, and those are pretty fun, but I spend most of my time playing handhelds cause I hate being chained to a TV - my trusty PSP, DS, and laptop go with me everywhere. I was a Nintendo kid growing up, got my first NES in 1991 or so. Anyway, nice to meet you all!
