  1. Heh well after reading this it kinda makes me glad we don't have Game Stop's in the UK (I believe they murged or bought out EB (Electronic Boutique) a few years back but the ones in the UK had already been murged with another company). So the only ones I've been in were In Italy (hence I have no communication with the staff outside of someone else translating for me). Though I did find out that the GS's in Italy at least are clearing out all their original XBox games for €5.98 each (buy 2 get 1 free) no matter what the title is and any that aren't sold in the next month or so are being returned to the main warehouse. The thing is you have to ask the staff to get to know what is in stock as some of the stores are so small and overstocked that the games aren't on display as they just don't have the room so if your able to get to one of them it's worth inquireing as a lot of the games are brand new still sealed copies including if your lucky the Capcom/SNK & Capcom/Marvel games.
  2. Yeah Edge used to be such a good magazine, but in recent years it's become just yet another mainstream magazine, I stopped reading it myself a couple years back becuase the level of journalism in it had dropped to the level of C+VG and their 'pant-wettingly good' style of writing.
  3. The orange plastic Grandstand pong clone my older brothers had that was basically 10 variations of pong
  4. Dec/Jan issue would have been written and published in Nov for release in Dec/Jan so I'd count the Dec/Jan issue in the section for the year of the Dec personally because of the actualy release of the mag not the time it was covering.
  5. Well the ODM Preview is up, working on Total Control 001 now
  6. Official Dreamcast Magazine (Preview Issue) - Aug 1999 (UK) Came out as a freebie a month before the actual launch. It's a third the size (dimention wise) of a standard issue and was a preview/promotion for the Official Dreamcast Magazine (UK) Scanned 28/28 Edited 28/28 Started February 25th 2008 Finished February 26th 2008 Released February 27th 2008 Total Control Issue 001 - Nov 1998 (UK) Issue One has a foil cover so scanning appears too dark and digital Camera is too blurry so having to manually clean this one up a lot. (Edit) Finished it up and I'm mighty proud of it too. - Scanner finally bit the dust currently on hold will be back scanning A.S.A.P. Scanned 029/164 Edited 029/164 Started February 27th 2008 Finished TBA Released TBA Shenmue Chapter One Yokosuka - 2000 (UK) A Guide to Shenmue by the people who made the (unofficial) Dreamcast Magazine. Was lucky enougth to have gotten this one in a auction for "Random Dreamcast magazines" where the seller only listed half the mags in the auction. Scanned 001/084 Edited 001/084 Started March 2008 Finished TBA Released TBA
  7. Have to say as a relitive newbie here that to be honest it sounds like a perfectly sound deal to me, the more you put into the community the more you can get in return but without totally excluding anyone from being able to participate. as I already said to meppi ina PM, Thanks to everyone for the hardwork that's gone into this project.
  8. Male, 30 (31 on the 20th march) currently residing in Bristol, England my city of birth, though I have also lived in Melbourne, Australia back in 2001/2002. Been a gamer since as far back as I can remember with an old Granstand 8-in-1 pong machine and a MB Microvision (due to having older brothers, the youngest was 11 when I was born so I grew up with their gaming machines), still have a Microvision in my collection too, though not the original one sadly. Currently I'm a Sega collector, have a complete PAL Dreamcast collection (not counting country cover/language varients) and well over half a Saturn one (170ish of 241) as well as a fair number of SMS, MD (Gen), GG & 32X games. Don't unfortunatly have any of my really old magazines anymore but I do have a fair few between 1998-2008 mostly DC/XBox/Multi-Format ones (Will type up a list later). Currently working on a game listing project with some other friends, and was the editor of the PAL Saturn/XBox lists over on www.digitpress.com though it's been a while since they last updated my files for one reason or another.
  9. Bristol in the South West of England.
  10. I voted for other, as much as I want to see full 'collections' of magazines scanned and uploaded first, being from the UK I would like to see some of the old UK mags I recall being done (though I'm sure some of them would be quite difficult to track down 'Amstrad Action' for one). It'd be nice to see some more of the old Mean Machines era console ones up. Anyone remember 'Total Control' from about '98/'99? I'm tempted to start on those (once I get the scanner fixed)
  11. Actually I'd pass up on the chocolate, mainly due to the fact my dad resently found out he's developed type 2 Diabetes and due to that I also could be at risk of it later in life. So I've had to cut down on that sorta thing already.
