Good news to any who want to try and not have to buy, it looks like a virtual boardgame program has emulated the game: http://battlegroundsgames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3137
And info on Battlegrounds: http://www.battlegroundsgames.com/nutshell.html
I haven't tried it(yet) so I can't recommend it. Found a copy of the game for cheap so I'll probably go that route instead of this.

This sounds awesome! Definitely something my friends and I could get into, as we're all big Alien fans. Interesting that the ship is named Prometheus. Is there any chance it could be an unofficial Alien game?
Looking to find it now..

hahaha, nice!
oy, now you've got me wanting to hunt down another book!
-
This sounds beautiful and interesting. Thanks for the review, I'll end up checking out this and probably the rest of the Mystery Case Files now.
-
Thanks. I'd considered some of these options before but it's nice to have them laid out in one place. I also didn't think of some that you did.
-
It sounds as though in real life the actual book was as rare to come across as it was in the story.
Of course, again you've got me interested as all hell and I'll be off to scour my local libraries and book dungeons..

Not as sweet as the one mentioned, but I'd still take it!

Is it bad that I'm downloading this right now, in 8 different files through MU?
I love this shit and they just don't carry things like this now that everything switched to DVD/BR!
I recommend the movie The Barbarians, starring the barbarian brothers(and the hottie Vanity), if you like this movie. They seem in a similar vein, but this one seems just a bit more hilarious.

this was my favorite of the driver games! driver 3 wasnt as good IMO

Definitely a fun game.

I've been watching a few Hammer horror this last month and I didn't catch this one. I think I'll hunt it down.
A lot of their movies are slow-paced and end up being carried by the actors. I don't really mind so much because I end up enjoying the settings and story a lot better after watching.
If you get the chance and haven't seen it before, check out The Reptile. The setting and actors really make that otherwise humdrum movie great. There's also a nice undertone in that one, as well.

Exactly.

I especially like your review on the Power U section:
"As any PC hardware buff will tell you, that information is meaningless without benchmarking but even now nobody’s written benchmarking software for the SNES and Genesis. It would be interesting to see, if you wrote such an application, and were able to create cartridges for the software for the SNES and Genesis, how they would turn out."
So true, why hasn't this happened?
-
"And, to be absolutely honest, did you seriously think a two-button fighting game could turn out well?"
This is sort of how I felt about Street Fighter Alpha 3 port on the GBA..

To me, Green Day is no deal to make a game out of. They should've stopped making music and acting like punks when they turned 20 something(I liked their first two albums somewhat), it's just pathetic looking now, and their music sucks. But that's just my opinion.
Their Rock Band game could've been switched out for a Van Halen one, easily. VH has way more fans, definitely way more people who air guitar to them and could have benefitted from a Rock Band: VH.
It's sad that this game isn't good. I had hopes.
Great blog, keep it up!

Kendo Rage was an anime? I never knew that. I used to be a fan of this game but I haven't went back and tried it again.. maybe now is the time.
Another decent one(not sure if it was released in America or not) is Ghost Sweeper Mikami. Sort of quirky and a little fun in the same vein.

I didn't see this post until now.. Pat's looks a lot better to me.
I've seen a TV show about this very subject, comparing Geno's and Pat's. I didn't like how uppity Geno's place seemed, either. Overall I think I'll be going to Pat's next time I'm in the area.

I loved playing through this with my friend when we were younger. I like the game in 1P mode, but 2P adds to the fun!

Intrigue!

I hope there's a way that some people in the biz can see this or find it through Google. They need to get the picture!
Great job. You brought up every point that needed said.

What a beautiful game that was!
I don't like his stance here just as much as I didn't like his initial stance on the movie Day of the Dead, which he, years later, revoked and disagreed with. The only difference this time is that he won't live anohter 20 years to revoke this statement after everyone has forgotten the argument.
Bravo, Ebert, for once again being a pompous-arthouse-film ass. And to think I tolerated his existence there for a while.

I almost took this for an April Fools' joke. Still looking for the hidden message...

Excellent. Beautiful article with depth and character.
I had no clue they had done anything like this back in 1999, it's pretty amazing. Leave it to the genius D&D geeks to be ahead of their time!
