  4. If it's more complicated than that, you're doing it wrong. Just sayin'. *huggles* Areala
  5. It looks very action-y, but rather light on plot. I'm one of the people who LOVED the Peter Jackson reboot to death though, so I think I'm in the minority. *huggles* Areala
  6. Wow, that's a nice collection! I'm nowhere near south Florida (it'd be a 44-hour round-trip drive for me to get there), but who knows--maybe somebody here on the forums lives closer or knows someone who does? *huggles* Areala
  7. Yeah, reading it again, it does seem like Kain was balking at the presence of some sequels and not others (Killzone over Syphon Filter, for example). I think maybe he's interested in seeing some resurrected IPs as opposed to the continuation of current ones from the previous generation. *huggles* Areala
  8. I don't mind sports titles that don't take themselves too seriously (Nintendo's Ice Hockey on the NES, for instance, is hilarious, and there are a few wrestling games I will pick up and play from time to time), but the ones that set out to mimic the actual sports themselves, like the EA franchise titles or the old Sega Sports/2K brands, are boring because I don't know enough about the rules and the games to actually be competent at them. Also, I might take you seriously if you didn't forget that Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore, Tekken Tag Tournament, and Summoner were all PS2 launch titles here in North America, thus completely invalidating your argument. *huggles* Areala
  9. That seems like what Kain was suggesting, and I absolutely agree. *huggles* Areala
  10. House of the Dead 2, Soulcalibur, and Power Stone are all fine titles. I'm not sure that three games qualifies as 'a lot', but everything else available at US launch easily fell into the 'terrible-to-mediocre' category, or was a sports game (but I repeat myself). And let's not even bring up the Japanese launch of the system, which offered a tantalizing 4 titles: one terrible Godzilla game, one terrible sports sim starring penguins, one supremely sub-par visual novel, and the "No-one-will-remember-me-after-Soulcalibur's-release" third incarnation of Virtua Fighter. *huggles* Areala
  11. That's certainly the truth. When the PS2 came out, I remember visiting the Blockbuster in town, and every single copy of every single game was always rented out. It didn't matter what it was: Fantavision, Q-Ball, Madden NFL 2001, Silent Scope, SSX, Evergrace, Eternal Ring, NHL 2001, when your choices were limited, everything had the potential to be a hit. Same with the Dreamcast launch. *huggles* Areala
  12. They already made "Def Jam: Fight For NY", dear. *huggles* Areala
  13. I've never been a huge fan of the Test Drive series, but my brother convinced me to give Test Drive: Eve of Destruction a shot, and damn if it's not one of the most ridiculously fun driving games I've played. It came out in 2004 on the PS2 and Xbox and must not have done very well, because nobody greenlit a sequel. They went back to sleek racing cars. It really is a shame. EoD is such a great demolition derby sim. *huggles* Areala
  14. When she brings it up, just tell your wife how lovely she is and how thankful you are that you married someone as wonderful and tolerant of your hobby as she is. Then break out the roses, bottle of wine, and subscription to "Weekly Chocolate Box". She will melt, and possibly offer to help you buy more magazines. *huggles* Areala
  15. I think the main difference is that anybody can add to the database. Not everybody can scan magazines. I'm happy to type up and index a magazine because it's really the only way I contribute to the site. My flatbed takes far too long to scan images for me to be a contributor of more than cover scans and the occasional little thing like the Tomb Raider Hint Book I did earlier. Bottom line: if you're scanning, you're doing so much more than the rest of us it's not even funny. I don't care if you never touch the DB except to link a new upload and cover image. You guys can "set your own hours" in that regard. *huggles* Areala
  16. I hate to tell you this, Philly, but it doesn't get any easier. I'm 40 and still a handful. I've no idea how my wife puts up with me. *huggles* Areala
  17. I may be quite alone in my thinking, but I loved everything about Heavy Rain. *huggles* Areala
  18. Kind of along the same lines, but did you ever buy 'Pulp'? It was a sister publication of Mixxzine, put out by Viz, but with the subtitle "The Manga Magazine for Mature Readers". Had some really great stories in it, like "Dance Til Tomorrow". *huggles* Areala
  19. Just noticed you put up an issue of Tokyo Pop...do you have others, or was this a one-off? And if it was a one-off, are you interested in acquiring more...? *huggles* Areala
  20. This short, 24-page mini-guide was offered as an incentive for those who pre-ordered the game. It walks a player through the initial character creation up through escaping the Vault. If you want anything beyond that, you'll need the official guide. :)
