  3. Not to say that I'm going to stop playing games, but I will admit that none of the current-gen consoles (or the forthcoming Nintendo Switch) interest me in the slightest. Pretty sure the PS3 is my final home console... ...which is fine, because I already have enough in my backlog to entertain me for decades without adding more. *huggles* Areala

  5. Hey! How come you aren't wearing the nice Care Bear jammies I got you for your birthday? I am a sad Warrior Nun. :( All joking aside, is a heat gun basically an industrial-strength hair dryer? I always imagined something called a heat gun would behave like a small flamethrower, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. Curse my imagination for promising more than real life could deliver yet again. *huggles* Areala
  6. Did you hear that? Did you HEAR that?! That was me, having a big ol' SQUEEE!!! *huggles* Areala

  11. Probably a good fifteen years ago, I had basically this same conversation with an old friend. I grew up with very little exposure to wrestling, but I babysat for a couple of kids in the mid-90s who absolutely adored it. They knew it was all "fake", but still they went nuts over the spectacle. Their parents would occasionally order one of the PPVs for them to watch on a night I was babysitting, and watching them caught up in the melodrama and the excitement of the Royal Rumble was just...awesome. We'd play the SNES wrestling games too...'Royal Rumble' and 'Raw is War' were quite fun. Anyway, my friend said that guys like him got into wrestling because it was basically soap operas for dudes. No guy worth his balls would confess to watching "The Young and the Restless" or "As The World Turns", but watching a bunch of guys hulk out and smack the shit out of one another over some perceived slight was perfectly legit in the world of testosterone. It probably helped when the different promotions started introducing women alongside the guys. I'm not going to lie, watching somebody like Lita or Chyna work the ring with the big boys was enjoyable. My guess is that most guys who get into wrestling are actually getting back into wrestling. It reminds them of when they were kids, just like people who geek out over Star Wars remember it from when they were little. *huggles* Areala
  12. Sorry Kiwi, I had no idea. I visit OGM for your computing mags, especially the non-US publications. It never occurs to me to flip through your US video game mag sections. *huggles* Areala
  13. Seeing the WWF Smackdown cover on EDay's most recent GamePro upload got me thinking and wondering: Who here either currently or at one time in the past enjoys/enjoyed professional wrestling? Doesn't have to be WWF/WWE, it could be ECW, All-Japan, Lucha Libre, WCW, TNA, whatever. Did you ever play or enjoy a good wrestling game? Have a favorite wrestler? See a live show? Buy a Pay-Per-View? What did you like (or alternately, what did you hate) about the business of sports entertainment? Your Goddess desires to see opinions falling like elbows and knees all over this thread. I want rants, raves, taunts, and word brawls. Let's see those "Austin 3:16" banners, Ultimate Warrior tributes, and Ric Flair howls. No count-outs, no disqualifications. Go to it, my beloved. *huggles* Areala
  14. The word you're looking for is "introverts", Kitsu-chan. "Introverts." *huggles* Areala
  15. I loved the WWF Smackdown games! *huggles* Areala
  16. Hooray!! So glad you were able to find what you were looking for! *huggles* Areala
  17. I'll occasionally jump into the multiplayer portion of a game, but if I do, it's only ever with friends, and for co-op purposes in games like Dead Island or Borderlands. While I could out-beast half the planet at Unreal Tournament back in 1999 (and oh dear LORD the stuff you'd hear over the chat channels when someone realized they got fragged by a girl...), I don't have the reflexes to compete in the deathmatch arena any longer. Multiplayer bores me now because there's no story. I buy games to get lost in another world made for me by other developers; just jumping in to kill random strangers gives no satisfaction. Let me smash zombies with three friends or loot Pandora with a bevy of buddies and I'm happy as a clam. *huggles* Areala
