  1. I used to play this on Turbografx 16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWJheeUgy08
  2. I like using the original controllers too but in recent years these same controllers have been remade into USB. You can also buy adapters to make old controllers fit new consoles.
  3. There is no difference between monitors and televisions nowadays. Most Tv's sold have the same output you would use for a monitor. What makes the difference between a Television and a monitor is a television always has a tuner. So say you have a Nintendo Wii (or Sega Dreamcast, Playstation 2), you plug this into what you call a television (even if you use forks), and an emulator can run any old cartridge game like it was on the original. Maybe some people don't want to learn how or take the time to learn but lots of people do it.
  4. Dark Wizard This was a RPG developed for the Sega CD system that featured long anime-based cutscenes to develop the story. The gameplay took place on a hex-map, and featured turn-based tactical battle scenes. You played as your choice of 1 of 4 playable characters, each with their own attributes, abilities, and available units. Story 300 years ago, the high priest of the Kingdom of Cheshire tried to disturb the balance of good and evil by summoning the dark god Arliman. Sabrina, Goddess of Light, saved the Kingdom by giving great powers to two of Cheshire's leaders who defeated the high priest and helped the King's high wizard to entrap Arliman in a magical jewel. Velonese, the high wizard's apprentice, was given the task of guarding the imprisoned Arliman on the Island of Raven. Over the years, his anger towards the kingdom grew and now he is commanding four generals to conquer Cheshire while he is trying to free Arliman. You take on the role of one of four playable main characters and must re-conquer the land that has already fallen into Velonese's hands and find a way to defeat him and prevent Arliman's resurrection. The four main characters feature largely different stories, however, every game begins with the King's death and your character becoming the new ruler of Cheshire. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3XI2rH1bl0

    Trainspotting 2

Just like nothing I said prevented Sony fannyboys from ignoring Dreamcast for the Playstation 2, nothing you say will prevent me from watching the movie.
  6. Nine of the greatest fighters throughout history have met untimely and unjust deaths. They now compete against each other for a chance to face the "Eternal Champion" and reclaim their souls. The victor will return to Earth with the chance to change their fate and restore balance to the universe. I like how Sega took the best elements of Mortal Kombat (finishing moves) and Street Fighter (Gameplay) and created their own fighting system with taunts. I used to play this on the Genesis all the time but the Sega CD version was superior. There were more levels, more moves and best of all more ways to kill. When you built up your internal strength you could use your special moves by pressing A+B+C or X+Y+Z. Executing Sudden Deaths and Overkills. In order to properly execute a Overkill you must: be in the last round, victim is in front of the background "trigger", and the victor hits with a blow that does 5% or more damage. For the Sudden Death to be properly executed you must: be in the last round, victim must have 20% energy or less, and the victor hits with a move that does 10% damage. This game was released for the Wii Virtual Console in 2007 but it wasn't as good as the Sega CD version and the Sega Team that made it (Deep Water) was dispanded years ago after they dropped this 2D fighter to develop Virtual Fighter 3D. These are just the cinekills http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPnrPCPkOUA
  7. Any amount of money they get for a download is all profit too. No expensive cartridges and manufacturing plants. I wonder how they divide up the profits with the copyright owners?

    Trainspotting 2

Whoops. Your right about Ewan but I thought it was a great story and if nothing else a great example of what not to do. I want to know what happens to these guys in the future as worse people than drug addicts are allowed to live.

    Trainspotting 2

Novelist Irvine Welsh wrote the books Trainspotting and the sequel Porno. It's about a group of Scottish 20 year olds. Some of them have a heroin addiction and the other Begby has a social problem. In 96 it was the best movie around. The main reason the 2nd book hasn't been made is because director Danny Boyle wants the cast to be 20 years older. Ewan McGregor is said to be returning but there's nothing on paper yet. If you didn't know, Ewan McGregor was cast as Anakin Skywalker for Star Wars episode 2 Attack of the Clones. If this 20 years older idea stands true I will have to wait 7 more years. It's something to wait for but 7 years is so long away. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAHI3bH0rbc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5_TzFhOKgA
  10. This will make millions. I'd like to try it in the arcade with multi players or at home over the internet with a steering wheel. The guy playing in the video must have been nervous because when he spun it around he couldn't figure out how to get it in reverse and turn the right way.
  11. I wanted to buy the PC version a couple months ago but decided to wait. It looks fantastic and I'm sure would be a blast to play but I'm sick of ad ons and expansions. In three months they'll probably sell a new version call Super Street Fighter 4 Rainbow with multi colored panties.
  12. A3 is 11 3/4 by 16 1/2 inches. That would make it easier to scan 2 pages at once. I have trouble scanning our phonebook because our scanner is about 8.5 by 11.5 inches. After your machine is warmed and ready, how long does it take to scan and save to a memory card before it's ready to start the next scan. Mine is about 20 seconds.
  13. I have nothing against supporting any videogame manufacturer but I can't understand why professional or old school gamers download old Super Nintendo games from Nintendo. Is this kinda like a cell phone where if your sim card gets wiped you lose all your ringtones? With all the emulators out you could have 100 or more Super Nintendo games selectable on a memory stick or game disc. Again, I believe you should own these already but even if you didn't...
  14. Recently I've been hearing the use of Nintendo Wii controllers used in our University as teaching tools. Students write their own software and find new uses for this technology.
  15. I think you should use the blue PAL color instead of the orange NTSC U.
  16. This doesn't interest me too much as I still have hundreds of PS 1 games but from a business standpoint it's a great idea. A new generation of gamers who were not around during the original Playstation would be prime stakeholders for this idea. Or maybe they saw how well the Nintendo Wii was doing with this idea and figured hey what the hell?
  17. As I can remember Sega only allowed you to level up so far, and then you only receive 1 exp point per kill. It was fun trying to get your most powerful magician in range to launch a ground zero attack on the middle of a pack. You can't let your group split up too far away meaning healers like Gong have to be able to move to anyone in need of a heal. Occasionally he could inflict the one point damage needed for those annoying times when a powerful enemy only has one health point. And watch your flank. As for me I'm sorting through my Sega CD library to remember which ones need completing.

    Sonic CD

Okay it's bugging me that my game crashes right after I beat Dr. Robotnik no matter what I do. And I cannot find a good enough recording to demonstrate the sonic bliss that is in this game but I'm going to repost the good ending next to the bad ending just so you can see the difference in the anime. The race against against Metal Sonic is my own recording sans the sound and I cheated a bit but it turned out good as I kicked his butt.

    Sonic CD

To an untrained eye Sonic CD looks so much like all the other Sonic games on Genesis. But to someone with a half-assed decent stereo will notice the slammin rock music included on the cd. If you put your Sonic CD into your computer's drive, you'll see the size of the game is 100 Mega bytes with the songs weighing in at over 500 MB. If you check the size of a game like Sonic 3, the whole thing is 2 Mega bytes. Besides the awesome music, which is better in the English version, the game file is bigger because of the 3D bonus levels and more complex textures. What they should have done was compress the audio tracks from wav to an exclusive format like Grand Theft Auto San Andreas did. That would leave 400 MB's of space on the CD for a 3D Sonic game. I think they could have done it just by playing the bonus level. They released a version of Sonic CD for PC in 1996 which was inferior to Sega CD's version. I'm only guessing now but I think they have re-released this for Wii or something like that.

    Sonic CD

Your right about the music. If you listen to the tracks on the cd, you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality. I had to use this youtube video for reference because I don't have a Mega CD anymore and Youtube doesn't allow high definition audio. When I play this on the emulator with my original game disc, the game crashes right after I fight Dr. Eggman (Dr. Ivo Robotnik) for the second time on Metallic Madness 3.(last level) Amy hugs Sonic then the screen turns white... and nothing else. Destroying all Machines in the past or collecting all time stones will unlock the good ending. I do this but my game still crashes.
