  3. Oh boy, everyone I knew in and around 1995 who had a Super Nintendo bought this game. Nintendo spent three years creating the characters and textures for this game engine. The characters and environment were fully rendered and the sound is CD quality. Nintendo set the new standard for games. It has a perfect balance of difficulty and the gameplay is as deep or deeper than Super Mario World while remaining easy enough for a child to play through and there were secrets galore.

  7. That's what early Final Fantasy is all about. You gotta spend an hour outside of a hotel and fight monsters until your all leveled up making sure you have enough gold to pay for your stay. This game was emulated well in 1996 and that was the last time I played it. At least with an instant save you can be sure you won't lose hours of work.
  8. Mega Man 3 was the first MM game I owned for Nintendo. I agree the 1st one is the hardest but the rest are only just hard enough. I found out by accident that when you hold either the left or right direction on control pad 2, Mega Man can fall down a pit and live. If I remember correctly, he can also jump higher and is invincible. It's been almost 20 years since I did this. Try battle network. It's a great strategy game.

  12. I like the explanation for the nicks in the sword. -Last second arrow deflection Great Wall Of China -Would have wasted the Mummy Queen if she didn't use so much hairspray. -Pryed open the passageway to an Incan Temple. Guard's Helmet -King Edward's Castle -Stubborn can of Pork and Beans -Tower of Babel.
  13. I don't know too many kids nowadays but I would imagine most could not appreciate a good old game unless it was the only game they could play. This made me think of a scene in the film The Wrestler starring Mickey Rourke. It Features a fictional Nintendo Entertainment System video game called Wrestle Jam '88, starring the characters of Robinson and The Ayatollah. Randy invites a neighborhood boy over to play this game and the kid quickly loses interest. Not because he was getting slammed but because he wanted to go home and play Call of Duty.

  19. Mega Man was always the type of game you could pick up and play. Capcom has created the franchise for many different systems, starting with the NES. They made 6 games for the NES each one adding something new. It wasn't until the third game that Megaman could slide and the fourth he could charge his shots. Nintendo definitely got the most love from Capcom but the Sega Genesis was given the first three games from the NES series all in one package. It was remade with sharper graphics and more color but that was the end. Super Nintendo got Mega Man 7 and then started the X series. There were three of them. Mega Man 64 got low scores for technical reasons but it was another great experience for Mega Man fans. I enjoyed it almost as much as when Sonic had his first good 3-D conversion with Sonic Adventure. After the series got beat to death on the Sony Playstation, Capcom came up with another great idea with the Mega Man Battle Network. While everyone was playing Pokemon on their Gameboys, I was playing Battle Network on Gameboy Advance. So very addicting.

  24. Goro was ultra powerfull. If he even hit you it would take almost 1 third to half your life. Shang Tsung was cheap. He could walk toward you and morph just before striking range and paddle you. If you back him up he can huck fireballs. He was the hardest to master. Too bad you can't fight as Gorro.
