  1. I don't think there's any question that my favorite has to be SMB3 from the NES. I loved how different the worlds were (giant world, pipe world, water world, cloud world, etc.). It was the only Mario I can think of where you could really do it all too: Fly, shoot fireballs, take on multiple forms with different suits, etc. Besides, how many other games had a 90 minute movie made as the ultimate commercial preview? I love the Wizard and still watch it from time to time. What a great game. I think I'll play through it again when I'm done with my current game.
  2. I picked up my first issues of Nintendo Power yesterday! I'm incredibly excited to receive my first retro magazines. All I've ordered are issues 20-29. I don't have a scanner, and I imagine they're already on the site. However, I could perhaps use Photoshop to do something. For example if you guys wanted to scan in parts of the Nintendo Power poster inserts, I could photomerge them together using Photoshop. Lemme know if I can help!
  3. I love this irony: In 5 years Nintendo would release a game called Donkey Kong 64 that would be the first Nintendo game requiring users to purchase new hardware to play it. Edit: I just realized that DK64 came with the hardware! Still, though, funny coincidense.
  4. My Collection: Console NES SNES N64 Handheld Gameboy Gameboy Color Nintendo DS (not retro by definition, but I own several GBA games for it) I plan to pick up a GameCube and start a collection on some Metroid and other GC games, but for now, that's all I have. I don't play any of them regularly, but I do have my SNES hooked up to my main Home Theater, and my wife and I will occasionally play something. She's into Yoshi's Island and Joe & Mac, and I'm into everything. I mostly play Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Mega Man X, Super Mario World, Contra 3, and like games on it. More than anything, I love my XBox 360, and I've been trying to find more retro games to download on the XBLA because it's so much easier to play.
  5. Cool thread! I'm a big fan of Mega Man. I own MM 2 and 3 on the NES, and a couple copies of X on the SNES. One copy of X is in mint condition, with the box and everything. It looks like it's never been played, and I picked it up at a garage sale for $2. Ah garage sales, is there anywhere better to find old games?
  6. Hello Everyone. I'm 26, and I've been gaming most of my life. I found this site while looking all over the interwebs for old copies of the Nintendo Power Magazine. While I play my XBox 360 most of the time, I'm an avid retro gamer. In fact, the game I'm playing through on my 360 right now is Castlevania SOTN, so there ya go. I was looking for Nintendo Power Mags, because most of my gaming memories are from Nintendo's 8 bit and 16 bit systems, and those magazines will bring back a lot of memories I have from my childhood sitting at my friends house reading through them all. I have about 120 NES, SNES, and N64 games in my collection, and I'm planning to add the first 10 years or so of Nintendo Power to it. This site will be an awesome way for me to look at issues I don't have, or just whet my appetite. I think it's great that you guys have put this site together and I look forward to looking around and perhaps getting to know some of you. My XBL Gamertag is Causedawg 83. If anyone here knows of someone trying to get rid of their collection of NP Mags, I might be interested (I see some collections going for a lot more than I'm able to spend).
